Job summary

Enerfab is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Senior Project Manager on large-scale construction projects in NW Indiana/Chicago. You will help with planning, budgeting, vendor coordination and schedule management to ensure on-time delivery.

Responsibilities include cost estimates, progress tracking, risk mitigation, and client communication. This role requires travel to project sites and a strong background in engineering or construction management.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
• 6 years of relevant experience in estimating, project coordination, or construction management.
• Proficiency in project management software, scheduling tools, and the Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong analytical skills with proven ability to interpret and manage budgets, estimates, and cost reports.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively and influence cross-functional teams.
• Knowledge of construction industry practices, regulations, and safety standards.
• Ability to travel to project sites as required.

Responsibilities

• Estimating & Budget Support: collaborate with Estimating to prepare detailed project estimates, budgets, and cost analyses; monitor costs; support cost control systems.
• Project Coordination & Planning: assist in developing project strategies including scope, timelines, and budgets; coordinate with cross-functional teams to align goals; support subcontractor selection.
• Scheduling & Timeline Management: help develop and maintain detailed project schedules; monitor milestones and risks; ensure timely updates.
• Quality Assurance & Compliance: work with Quality Control to meet standards; document and resolve quality issues; ensure safety compliance.
• Risk Identification & Mitigation: assist in identifying project risks; develop risk mitigation plans; address change orders and variations.
• Client & Stakeholder Relations: coordinate with clients and external stakeholders; provide status updates; assist with inquiries and change requests.
• Project Reporting & Documentation: prepare status reports and cost-tracking documents; maintain records; contribute to presentations.
• Contract Administration: assist in reviewing and managing contracts; track terms and coordinate with legal.
