Project Engineer

Summary

The Project Engineer will be responsible for assisting and supporting the Project Managers (PMs) and other key people within the organization with day‑to‑day tasks such as bidding, scheduling, contracts, billing and collection, etc.

Responsibilities

• Assists the PMs with all duties, including but not limited to:
  • Safety
  • Software and applications (HCSS, financials, scheduling, etc.)
  • Take-offs
  • Bidding
  • Building (grading, paving, milling, subcontractors)
  • Scheduling
  • Equipment use
  • Contracts and negotiation
  • Billing and collection
  • Specifications
  • Beginning knowledge of mix designs, plants, and aggregate sites (manufacturing)
  • General business operations (understands details of company operations)
• In conjunction with the other Project Engineers and PMs, ensures the daily, weekly, and monthly tasks are addressed in a timely fashion
• Spends time with Operations, PMs, Scheduling and some exposure to Manufacturing and Technical Services
• Attends project meetings (pre‑construction, pre‑pave, scheduling, etc.)
• Performs other related duties as required and assigned

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree, vocational training, certification from an accredited organization or combination of schooling and relevant work experience
• Excellent verbal and written communication, consulting, conflict management, and interpersonal and negotiation skills
• Valid driver's license and satisfactory driving record

Preferred Skills

• Prior transportation industry and logistics experience
• Relevant industry experiences a plus
• Excellent client management and business literacy skills
