Job summary

Winter Construction is seeking a Project Engineer to join our team for an August 2027 start date on active commercial construction projects in the Southeast. You will support project teams from preconstruction through closeout, coordinating with SPMs, supers, and subcontractors to deliver projects on time and within budget.

Ideal candidates have a bachelor's degree in construction-related field, internship or co-op experience, strong organization, and clear communication skills to support

Responsibilities

  • Support Project Manager and Superintendent to deliver projects safely, on time, and within budget.
  • Review plans, specs, and submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other project documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain schedules and resolve field issues.
  • Conduct site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety on site.
  • Attend project meetings, prepare minutes, and support stakeholder communications.
  • Assist with procurement and timely delivery of materials and services.

Project Engineer - August 2027 Start Date
Ready to launch your career in commercial construction management? Winter Construction is seeking motivated graduates to join our team as Project Engineers. In this role, you'll work alongside experienced project teams on active commercial construction projects, playing a key role in project coordination from preconstruction through closeout.Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Project Manager and Superintendent in delivering projects safely, on time, within budget, and to high quality standards.
  • Review project plans, specifications, and submittals to ensure compliance with contract documents.
  • Track and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and other key project documentation.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors to maintain project schedules and resolve field issues.
  • Conduct site walks to monitor progress, assist with quality control, and ensure jobsite safety.
  • Attend and contribute to project meetings, prepare meeting minutes, and support communication between all stakeholders.
  • Assist with procurement and help ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Building Construction, Civil Engineering, or a related field and have a strong desire to work in Construction Management.
  • Previous construction-related experience through an internship, co-op, field role, or similar experience.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Clear, professional communication skills and a collaborative, team-oriented mindset.
  • Internship or co-op experience in commercial construction is preferred but not required.
