Job summary

RockBridge Search & Recruitment is seeking a Project Engineer/Assistant Superintendent in Utah. This role blends office planning with on-site field activity to coordinate subcontractors, track schedules, and ensure quality and safety throughout commercial construction projects.

Ideal candidates have 1–5+ years in commercial construction, a related degree, and strong communication to work with owners, architects, and vendors.

Qualifications

  • 1–5+ years of commercial construction experience preferred.
  • Degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or related field is a plus.
  • Knowledge of commercial construction methods and building systems.
  • Ability to interpret blueprints and construction documents.
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and leadership potential.
  • Comfortable working both in the field and in the office.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office; experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Primavera P6, or Microsoft Project is a plus.
  • Valid driver's license with reliable transportation.

Responsibilities

  • Assisting Project Managers and Superintendents with day-to-day project operations.
  • Coordinating subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers.
  • Tracking project schedules and helping maintain critical milestones.
  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, and project documents for accuracy.
  • Processing RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Performing regular site walks to monitor progress, quality, and safety.
  • Helping identify and solve field issues before delays occur.
  • Assisting with scheduling inspections and coordinating project closeout activities.
  • Maintaining accurate daily reports and construction logs.
  • Ensuring projects remain organized, efficient, and client-focused.

What You'll Be Doing

As the bridge between the office and the field, you'll support project leadership through every phase of construction by:
