Job description

Aramark Nexus is seeking a motivated Project Engineer to support the planning, coordination, and execution of large-scale construction and infrastructure projects across the United States. This is an opportunity to build your career in construction management while contributing to projects supporting the rapidly growing data center, energy, infrastructure, and workforce hospitality industries.

As a Project Engineer, you will work alongside experienced Project Managers, construction leaders, engineers, architects, contractors, and operational teams to help deliver complex projects from initial site development through construction, commissioning, and final turnover.

Our projects include workforce housing communities, commercial dining facilities, hospitality buildings, utility infrastructure, and other large-scale developments that support critical industries.

This position is designed for an early-career construction professional with 1–3 years of experience who wants hands‑on exposure to the full construction lifecycle. You will gain practical experience in project scheduling, construction coordination, site logistics, procurement, cost tracking, and field operations while progressively taking ownership of project deliverables.

At Aramark Nexus, you will have the opportunity to work on challenging projects, learn directly from experienced construction professionals, and develop the skills needed to advance into Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles.

Job Responsibilities

Support Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing commercial construction, site development, and infrastructure projects.

Assist with projects throughout the construction lifecycle, including preconstruction, mobilization, construction, commissioning, and closeout.

Coordinate with architects, engineers, general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and internal operational teams.

Participate in project meetings, document decisions, maintain action‑item logs, and follow up on outstanding deliverables.

Identify potential project challenges and communicate issues to construction leadership.

Project Scheduling and Controls

Assist in developing, updating, and maintaining construction schedules and project milestone trackers.

Monitor project progress against established timelines and identify potential delays.

Support development of master schedules, procurement schedules, and short‑term construction look‑ahead schedules.

Coordinate schedule updates with contractors, vendors, and project stakeholders.

Prepare project status updates, progress reports, and supporting construction documentation.

Site Development and Construction Operations

Support field coordination for site preparation, grading, excavation, underground utilities, roadways, and infrastructure installation.

Assist with construction site logistics, including access roads, equipment staging, material storage, temporary utilities, and contractor coordination.

Monitor construction activities involving foundations, structural systems, modular buildings, commercial facilities, and mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems.

Conduct regular construction site walks to monitor project progress, identify field concerns, and document conditions.

Coordinate construction activities across multiple contractors and project work areas.

Construction Documentation and Procurement

Track requests for information (RFIs), submittals, shop drawings, design changes, and construction documentation.

Review construction drawings and specifications to develop a working understanding of project requirements.

Maintain organized project records, meeting minutes, inspection reports, and construction correspondence.

Assist with procurement tracking, including material approvals, fabrication, shipping, delivery, and installation.

Identify critical material requirements and potential procurement delays that could affect project schedules.

Budget, Quality, and Project Closeout

Support project cost tracking, change‑order documentation, contractor payment reviews, and budget reporting.

Assist with construction quality‑control processes, inspections, and testing activities.

Track project deficiencies, open issues, and punch‑list items through resolution.

Support equipment startup, commissioning, and final inspections.

Coordinate project closeout documentation, including as‑built drawings, warranties, operation manuals, and equipment records.

Assist with the successful transition of completed facilities to Aramark Nexus operations and facilities‑management teams.

Qualifications

Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and project documentation.
