1st shift - 7:00AM to 3:30PM (Monday through Friday)

POSITION SUMMARY: The Project Engineer is primarily responsible for the following:

• Development of timely, accurate, and competitive quotes for new CNC-machined components and New Product Introduction (NPI) opportunities.

• Prepare accurate, comprehensive, and competitive quotes for new CNC-machined components and NPI opportunities.
• Review customer drawings, models, specifications, quality requirements, and other technical documentation to determine manufacturability and develop a competitive manufacturing approach.
• Calculate material requirements, cycle times, labor hours, tooling costs, outside-processing costs, scrap factors, and other data needed to prepare complete quotes.
• Quote new components using current software, manufacturing equipment, capabilities, and available capacity.
• Analyze historical quote data, actual manufacturing performance, margins, and win/loss results to identify trends and improve future quoting accuracy.
• Maintain accurate and organized quote documentation, assumptions, supporting calculations, and revision history.
• Track quotation activity and support reporting on quote volume, response time, win rate, expected revenue, margin, and new-business pipeline.
• Respond promptly to questions and requests from customers, Business Development, and site leadership.
• Provide technical support to the Inside Sales, Business Development, and Project Management teams.
• Employees must be able to relate to other people beyond receiving instructions. Can get along with co-workers or peers and respond appropriately to feedback from a supervisor in a professional manner.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provides training and guidance to the engineering and operations team(s).
• Support current production needs for troubleshooting and process improvements.
• Participate in activities pertaining to cycle time and process improvements.
• Good housekeeping, safe work ethics, and conducting self in a professional manner.
• Proper handling and transportation of all materials, parts, and equipment to prevent damage and loss of finished product.
• Represent the company as required during customer, internal and ISO audits, as well as FDA inspections.
• Understand the sensitivity of the data handled by the systems under your control and take appropriate measures to protect it.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

• EDUCATION: Associate’s degree in mechanical engineering or manufacturing engineering technology. Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.
• EXPERIENCE: 5+ years’ experience in a manufacturing environment with a background in CNC machining, manufacturing engineering, process engineering, programming or estimating/quoting, equivalent combinations of education and experience accepted OR demonstrated ability to execute the Essential Functions for this position. Internships and PT experience acceptable. Familiarity with machined plastics preferred but not required.
