Our client is actively seeking an experienced Project Engineer to join their team!

This individual will be responsible for the engineering and technical disciplines associated with a variety of projects, including planning, establishing criteria, project reviews, and proper implementation of essential project elements. This is a full-time, contract opportunity that will be completed remotely, with roughly 50-60% travel to various project sites throughout the United States.

Job Summary

This position involves completing duties as assigned for the successful execution and delivery of projects. The role requires planning projects, establishing project criteria, coordinating reviews, and ensuring proper implementation of project elements.

Essential Functions

1. Preparing, scheduling, coordinating, and monitoring assigned engineering projects.
2. Formulating project parameters, assigning responsibilities to capable employees, and monitoring the project team.
3. Assisting the construction manager in managing the implementation phase of a project.
4. Performing quality control tasks on budgets, schedules, plans, and personnel performance; reporting on project status.
5. Communicating and collaborating with the project manager and other participants, including senior engineers, to improve project efficiency and profitability.
6. Reviewing engineering tasks and initiating corrective actions as necessary.
7. Developing specifications for equipment needed for the project.
8. Creating frameworks to measure project metrics and data collection.
9. Conducting quality inspections during the construction phase.
10. Ensuring compliance with applicable codes, policies, standards, and specifications.
11. Documenting lessons learned and integrating feedback into the organization.
12. Travel approximately 50% of the time.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Knowledge of civil, mechanical, or electrical construction practices.
• Strong understanding of engineering principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Microsoft Project or Primavera is desirable.
• Ability to understand and follow corporate policies for Capital Project Management.

Education and Experience

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 3 years’ experience in construction, manufacturing, or engineering.
• Skills in requirements analysis, design, project management, construction methods, process improvement, technical documentation, risk management, CAD/CAM.
• Excellent computer skills with Word, Excel, Outlook, MS Project, AutoCAD.
• Strong communication skills.

Physical Requirements and Work Environment
