Job summary

Bali Construction, Inc invites applications for a Project Engineer to support the full project lifecycle, from planning and materials management to reporting and document control. Responsibilities

• Review and become familiar with project documents, including contracts, plans, and specifications.
• Identify potential conflicts in documents and report them to the project manager.
• Prepare and transmit RFIs; maintain and update the RFI log.
• Prepare and transmit submittal packages; maintain the submittal log.
• Resolve submittal review comments to obtain approval.
• Identify changes in quantities from directives and plan progress.
• Coordinate with Purchasing Manager to obtain vendor shop drawings.
• Identify and research alternative materials for best value.
• Obtain requisite permits for the project scope of work.
• Convey site issues to PM, Superintendent, and Foremen as necessary.
• Participate in Bali’s Safety Culture; prepare job hazard analyses.
• Support in project cost-to-complete analyses and quarterly estimates.
• Attend project meetings and site visits; contribute to kick-off meetings.
• Assist field personnel with administrative tasks using mobile platforms.
• Support change order negotiations with Clients.

Are you ready to be part of a dynamic team and contribute to the success of innovative projects? We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Project Engineer to join Bali Construction. As a Project Engineer, you will play a vital role in ensuring project success by undertaking a diverse range of tasks across the entire project lifecycle. These tasks include materials management, plan preparation, data collection and analysis, project reporting, and document control. This role will provide essential support to project operations and help drive overall project achievement.

• Review and become familiar with the project documents, including contracts, plans, and specifications.

• Prepare and transmit submittal packages and maintain and update the project submittal log.

• Identify changes in quantities resulting from events, including but not limited to Client directives, Owner directives, design plan progression, and reviewing and approving agency design plan comments and conditions for approval.
• In coordination with Bali’s purchasing manager, obtain vendor shop drawings and review them to ensure conformance with the project requirements.
• In coordination with Bali’s Purchasing Manager, identify and research alternate or substitute materials that meet project requirements to obtain the best value or mitigate availability constraints.
• Obtain requisite permits for the project scope of work.
• Convey job site issues identified to the Project Manager, Superintendent, and Foremen as necessary.
• Actively participate in Bali’s Safety Culture.
• In coordination with Bali’s Safety Director and the project team, prepare job hazard analysis for each activity.
• Actively participate in Bali’s impact notification procedure as necessary.
• Review field-generated time & material extra work tickets for completeness and address shortfalls identified.
• Price time & material extra work tickets as necessary.
• Assist field personnel in navigating administrative duties using mobile platforms that are not limited to project-specific document control software and TRACK.
• Assist in resolving identified conflicts as necessary.
• Collect and record field data to support production rate review and analysis.
• Prepare project—or task-specific plans, including, but not limited to, sewer spill prevention plans, sewer bypass plans, shut-down or tie-in plans, and hoisting or lift plans.
• Attend Operations Meeting
• Participate in and contribute to project cost-to-complete analyses and quarterly estimates.
• Participate in joint Estimating and Operating project turn-over meetings.
• Contribute to preparing for and participating in Bali’s inter-departmental project kick-off meeting.
• Participate in change order negotiation meetings with Clients.
• Visit project sites and attend project meetings.
• Participate in Corporate annual and quarterly meetings.

Experience, Education & Skills

• Bachelor’s degree in construction management, Civil Engineering, or related field; or equivalent combination of skill, ability, and experience
• Proficient in Windows 10, Office 365, and Bluebeam
• Good oral and written communication skills
• Independently manage key processes with oversight
• Ability to multitask, strong organizational skills
• Must be self-motivated and disciplined with a strong work ethic
• Must be able to meet deadlines in a fast-paced work environment

Working Conditions

• Office/Outdoor Environment – sitting at a desk, physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing. Ability to lift 5-20 pounds occasionally. Exposed to outdoor weather conditions.
