In this role, you'll assist in preparing competitive cost estimates for dry utility projects, collaborating with the Estimating Team to ensure successful bids. • Review bid documents (i.e., invite, specifications, etc.) for pertinent project information such as labor rates/wage requirements, inclusivity & local hire requirements, locations/agencies, and other potential "go/no-go" metrics
• Interpret and analyze contract documents regarding terms, specifications, clarifications, and requirements for each project
• Review trade/scope-related specifications to confirm material types as well as spec/plan harmony/conformance
• Review soils report to identify soil types as well as potential risks (rock, groundwater, hazardous waste) and log in OneNote/excel for Estimator review
• Import bid items into B2W from the database & input material items into bid items
• Request and review material & subcontractor quotes/bids on time
• Collect and log all bid addendums, bulletins, deltas, etc., and review for potential impacts
• Prepare and follow up on RFIs and log them
• Communicate with customers/clients on fundamental issues
• Prepare a basic estimate/proposal and send it if requested/required
• Build and maintain positive relationships with the key vendors/subs
• Other duties as arise

Position Requirements: Experience, Education & Skills

• Civil Engineering or Construction Management Degree or an equivalent combination of skills and abilities
• Proficient in MS Office, intermediate to advanced Excel skills, and ability to learn industry-specific software
• Excellent oral and written communication skills
• Strong planning and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks
• Analytical Skills & Attention to detail
• Ability to work well with others
• Experience with takeoff & estimating software preferred (Planswift, OST, B2W, etc.)

Physical Requirements

Office Environment: sitting at a desk, physical requirements, such as climbing, standing, stooping, or typing, and occasionally the ability to lift to 20 lbs.
