Job summary

Jarrod Smart Construction, Co. is a Sioux Falls, SD-based residential builder seeking a Project Engineer to support project managers from preconstruction through completion.

You will manage calendars, set up meetings, draft emails, and prepare written communications for the PMs. You will attend client and trade partner meetings, take minutes, track items, assist with bids and estimates, and maintain schedules and project documentation across multiple active projects, combining office work with

Responsibilities

• Provide support to project managers from preconstruction through final completion by managing calendars, setting up meetings, drafting/editing/filing emails, and preparing written communications on the PMs' behalf.
• Manage information flow to help prioritize PM tasks and meet deadlines.
• Attend client or trade partner meetings, take minutes, and follow up on action items.
• Assist with deliverables to clients, vendors, and team members for meetings.
• Track outstanding items and coordinate with subcontractors, vendors, or suppliers.
• Assist with permit, inspection, warranty, and closeout documentation.
• Draft and maintain project schedules, document weather delays, on-site progress, and scope changes.

Jarrod Smart Construction, Co. is a residential custom home builder and remodeler located in Sioux Falls, SD. We are currently looking for a Project Engineer to perform a variety of administrative tasks to support our company's project managers. We are looking for a person who is detail oriented, a self-starter, has a good attitude, and is able to work independently and on a team. This position is ideal for someone who enjoys a fast-paced environment, is comfortable managing multiple priorities, and takes pride in following through on details.

Essential Job Functions

• Provide support to the project managers from preconstruction through final completion by managing calendars, setting up meetings, drafting/editing/filing emails, and preparing written communications on the project managers' behalf.
• Manage information flow in a timely and accurate manner to help prioritize project managers' tasks to ensure deadlines are met.
• Regularly attend client or trade partner meetings, take minutes during meetings, and help facilitate completion of any action items from meetings.
• Assist with deliverables to clients, vendors, and other team members, both in preparation of client meetings and after meetings.
• Track outstanding items and follow up with appropriate team members, subcontractors, vendors, or suppliers.
• Provide administrative assistance, such as writing and editing emails and preparing communications on the project managers' behalf.
• Assist with permit, inspection, warranty, and closeout documentation.
• Assist with project management tasks such as gathering bids from vendors, preparing estimates for client presentations, and documenting all client correspondence.
• Document project selections, issue purchase orders, manage change orders, and communicate with clients and trade partners effectively through Ressio.
• Draft and maintain project schedules including documentation of weather delays, on site progress, and added days due to scope changes.
• Routinely assist with field team members project assignment and communicate assignments with the team.
• Routinely assist with maintaining the master project schedule to help manage team workload.
• Plan and monthly safety meetings

Status/Hours

Full Time Employee. Typical work week will average 40-45 hours per week Monday through Friday. This position includes a combination of working from the office and making jobsite visits as needed.
