Job summary

CORE Builders is seeking a Project Engineer to support document control for RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes across multi-family and commercial projects in the San Francisco Bay Area. You will post documents to plans, assist site teams with tracking fabrication and deliveries, and coordinate preconstruction activities on-site with the project team.

Qualifications

  • College Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering.
  • 1 to 4 years’ experience in commercial or multi-family residential construction in the San Francisco Bay Area.
  • Internships are a plus.
  • Flexible with ability to manage multiple tasks/projects concurrently.
  • Resourceful with problem identification and resolution.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite; Scheduling software (MS Project); Procore is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Create and maintain a submittal log and track submittals to meet or beat project schedules.
  • Support document control for RFIs, submittals, and meeting minutes via Procore.
  • Assist the Project Manager and Superintendent with procurement coordination.
  • Create and maintain meeting agendas and minutes for OAC, Mock-Ups, Preconstruction meetings, and other project meetings.
  • Provide on-site support, create PDF exhibits, and manage project binders.

Position Summary:

As the Project Engineer, you are responsible for document control management of RFIs, Submittals, and meeting minutes. You will support the project team with posting documents to the plans, assisting Superintendents with tracking fabrication and delivery and site team coordination for preconstruction/preconference mockups.

Responsibilities:
Document Control
Submittals:
  • Creating and maintaining a submittal log.
  • Tracking submittals and coordinating all submittals in a timely manner to meet or beat the project schedule timelines.
  • Initiate procurement coordination with the Superintendent once submittals are approved.
Request For Information (RFIs):
  • Create, maintain and close RFIs via Procore.
  • RFIs are to be created with assistance from the Assistant Project Manager and Superintendent, and the final review of the Project Manager.
  • Communicate all critical path RFIs to the team both written and verbally.
Meeting Agendas and Minutes:
  • Creating and maintaining meeting agendas and minutes, including OAC Meetings, Mock-Ups, Preconstruction meetings, Box Walks, and any other miscellaneous project meetings as needed by the Project Manager.
Site Staff Support
  • Creating PDF exhibits to assist with project coordination.
  • Procore document management, uploading and downloading documents.
  • Redlining permitted plans with RFIs, ASIs, and OSIs.
  • Creating and updating project binders: Scope Binders, RFI Binders, Permit Binders, etc.
Developing Professional Expectations
  • Being timely and punctual.
  • Attending team meetings with a collaborative spirit.
  • Communicating with supervisors and teammates regarding work schedule and time off requests.
  • Asking questions and being vocal to teammates with project concerns.
  • Work on learning and improving written and verbal communication.
  • Learn construction safety (example OSHA 30).
Professional Development
  • Learn best practices in project management, seeking opportunities for continuous improvement.
  • Participate in company-wide initiatives and Core University.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends and emerging technologies to drive innovation in project management.
Qualifications:
  • College Degree in Construction Management or Civil Engineering
  • One (1) to four (4) years’ experience in commercial or multi-family residential construction experience within the San Francisco Bay Area

Working Conditions:
  • The role involves both office work and on-site presence.
  • Travel to project sites as needed.
  • Must be able to work flexible hours, including weekends, as project demands.

Anticipated Starting Pay Range:

The salary range for this full-time role is $90,000 - $120,000 per year. Ranges are determined based on the position, geography, client and industry experience and level, and represent a good faith effort to provide a fair and equitable salary. This range reflects base salary only, and not the total compensation package. CORE Builders’ reserves the right to pay more or less than the posted range, depending on a candidate’s experience, skills, and qualifications, including client requirements.
