Responsibilities

Job description

We are seeking a talented Project Engineer to join our team in the United States. The ideal candidate will serve as a key technical liaison between customer design teams and manufacturing facilities across multiple international locations.

This role requires strong engineering expertise, excellent communication skills, project coordination experience, and fluency in both English and Chinese (Mandarin).

Key Responsibilities

• Participate directly in design review meetings with customers' design engineers for new projects.
• Provide technical expertise during design discussions to ensure customer requirements are clearly understood and manufacturing feasibility is considered.
• Address customers' technical questions and provide engineering solutions during project reviews.

Requirement Transfer

• Translate and transfer customer design requirements to manufacturing and tooling teams.
• Communicate technical specifications, design changes, project requirements, and timelines clearly to manufacturing teams.
• Ensure customer requirements are accurately implemented throughout the development process.

Manufacturing Support

• Collaborate with assembly, injection molding, and stamping manufacturing teams to transfer technical knowledge and support production readiness.
• Follow up on manufacturing requirements and troubleshoot technical issues.
• Support first-article sample builds, validation, and customer approval processes.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams to ensure products meet engineering and customer specifications.

Project Management

• Serve as the technical project owner for New Product Introduction (NPI) projects.
• Track project milestones, deliverables, and timelines.
• Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure projects remain on schedule.
• Provide regular project updates and communicate technical issues, risks, and solutions.

Cross-Cultural Communication

• Act as a technical bridge between teams located in the United States, Asia, and Mexico.
• Facilitate effective communication of technical requirements across international teams.
• Communicate complex engineering information effectively in both English and Mandarin Chinese.

Qualifications

Education

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.

Experience

• 3-5+ years of experience in project engineering, manufacturing engineering, product engineering, or a similar role.
• Experience in electronics manufacturing, contract manufacturing, or related manufacturing environments is preferred.
• Strong experience with design reviews, New Product Introduction (NPI), and manufacturing processes.
• Experience with injection molding, stamping, assembly, or tooling is highly desirable.

Technical Skills

• Proficiency with CAD tools such as SolidWorks or AutoCAD.
• Experience with design validation and product development processes.
• Knowledge of Design for Manufacturing (DFM) principles.
• Familiarity with DFMEA (Design Failure Mode and Effects Analysis).
• Basic understanding of mold tooling and plastic injection molding processes is a plus.

• Fluent in English and Mandarin Chinese.
• Ability to communicate technical requirements effectively with customers and international manufacturing teams.
