Job summary

The Judge Group is seeking an experienced engineering leader to head global teams responsible for developing and industrializing manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical cable assemblies. The role will have 3 direct reports across sites in China, Thailand, and Mexico, with a broader team of 90+ engineers worldwide.

You will drive transition from prototype to high-volume production, lead Lean and Six Sigma initiatives, and collaborate with product development, operations, and supply

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical/electrical/manufacturing engineering or related technical field.
• 3+ years leading global engineering teams and managing technical projects.
• Strong Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement knowledge.
• Experience with metal stamping, metal plating, plastic injection molding, and assembly processes.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing, process development, and automation engineers.
• Oversee design, development, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and tooling.
• Drive continuous improvement to improve capability, quality, efficiency, and cost.
• Support product design with manufacturability guidance.
• Coordinate prototype builds, validation activities, and production readiness.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with supplier and operations teams to meet production requirements.
• Interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and program management.
• Manage multiple projects across global sites and timelines.
• Present project status to senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across dispersed teams for NPI and production growth.

Job description

Our client is seeking an experienced engineering leader to lead global teams responsible for developing and industrializing manufacturing processes for complex electromechanical cable assemblies.

This position will have 3 direct reports (3 engineering managers total/1 manager per site) located in China, Thailand, and Mexico with an additional total of 90+ FTE indirect reports spread over these sites (1 manager and 30 FTE at each site). A strong background with metal stamping, metal plating, plastic injection molding, and assembly processes is required.

This role serves as a key link between product development and manufacturing operations, ensuring successful transition from prototype and pilot builds to high-volume production.

Salary: $175,000-$195,000 + 20% Bonus

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead, mentor, and develop a team of manufacturing, process development, and automation engineers.
• Manage workload distribution, performance coaching, and talent development to achieve business objectives.
• Oversee the design, development, validation, and implementation of manufacturing processes and production tooling.
• Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on process capability, quality, efficiency, and cost reduction.
• Support product design teams by providing manufacturability guidance and optimizing designs for production.
• Coordinate prototype builds, process validation activities, and production readiness efforts.
• Evaluate and implement new manufacturing technologies and automation solutions.
• Collaborate with supplier and operations teams to assess manufacturing capabilities and ensure production requirements are met.
• Serve as the primary interface between engineering, operations, supply chain, quality, and program management teams.
• Manage multiple projects simultaneously, balancing priorities based on business needs and timelines.
• Provide project status updates and technical presentations to senior leadership.
• Facilitate cross-functional collaboration across geographically dispersed teams to support new product introduction and production growth.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
• Extensive experience in manufacturing, process development, or product industrialization within a high-volume manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years of experience leading global engineering teams and managing technical projects.
• Strong understanding of Lean Manufacturing, Six Sigma, and continuous improvement methodologies.
• Experience with process such as metal stamping, metal plating, plastic injection molding, and assembly processes is required.
• Knowledge of production tooling, automation systems, process validation, and quality standards.
• Familiarity with industry workmanship and assembly standards.
• Strong communication, presentation, and stakeholder management skills.
• Proficiency with common business and engineering software applications.
• Experience supporting global manufacturing operations and cross-functional teams is highly desirable.
