About Role
Critchfield Mechanical, Inc. is seeking an entry-level Project Engineer who is looking to start a career in mechanical engineering to join the team. You will be responsible for assisting with project timelines, conducting load calculations, and designing duct and pipe systems. The ideal candidate will have a passion for the engineering field and a desire to work in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

1. Perform heating and cooling load calculations and design layout of duct/piping systems.
2. Assist Sr. level engineers with project tasks, project management, and cost tracking.
3. Develop an understanding of drawings, specifications, building codes, estimating, and mechanical industry standards.
4. Generate Title 24, LEED, and Cal Green documentation.
5. Assist in generating equipment and material submittals.
6. Provide support for equipment selection and layout.
7. Interact and communicate with field personnel to resolve field issues and ensure the installation meets the project schedule/cost estimates.
8. Assist in project closeout documentation.
9. Build and maintain relationships with CMI clients and sub-contractors.

Education/Experience

1. Bachelor’s Degree in a related field required - Mechanical Engineering preferred.
2. 0-3 years of experience in commercial and industrial mechanical contracting.
3. Exposure to project management, estimating, and design.
4. REVIT & BIM experience a plus.
5. Knowledge of engineering fundamentals.
6. Strong analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
7. Proficiency in MS Office.
8. EIT certification a plus, but not required.
