Job summary

Vertical Mechanical Group (VMG) is seeking a Project Engineer at our Reston HQ to support the execution of commercial mechanical projects. You'll work with project managers and field teams to gain hands-on experience, develop technical and project management skills, and help deliver HVAC and plumbing systems from start to finish.

Based in Reston, VA, this role requires 1–3 years of relevant experience and a foundational knowledge of HVAC and plumbing.

Qualifications

• 1-3 years of experience in construction project coordination or management (mechanical focus preferred).
• Foundational knowledge of HVAC and plumbing systems and installation processes.
• Strong organizational and time-management skills.
• Basic understanding of mechanical drawings and commercial construction projects.
• Familiarity with project management software and Microsoft Office Suite.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Eagerness to learn and grow in a fast-paced environment.
• Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (preferred).

This position is based at our HQ in Reston, VA. This role will also require travel to work sites in the DMV area, which can be up to 30-40% of the role.
