Job summary

Siemens Energy in Raleigh seeks a Project Engineer to drive high voltage AIS and GIS substation EPC projects. You will design criteria, develop design packages, and collaborate with sales and project management to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

You bring 2–5 years in AIS/GIS engineering, HV knowledge, and strong documentation, analysis, and communication skills. This role emphasizes safety, EHS compliance, and a path to impact the energy transition.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years in engineering roles within AIS/GIS Substations EPC.
• Understanding of high voltage AIS/GIS equipment and electrical engineering principles.
• Proficient in engineering design, analysis, and implementation, including developing and reviewing technical documentation and specifications.
• Ability to create and evaluate engineering designs, ensuring compliance with standards and project requirements.
• Analytical skills to identify and resolve engineering challenges.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for collaboration with project teams and stakeholders.
• Experience ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance in engineering practices.
• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and relevant certifications; HV-Substation design experience.

The Project Engineer plays a crucial role in the design and execution of Air Insulated Switchgear (AIS) and Gas Insulated Switchgear (GIS) EPC projects, utilizing extensive technical expertise to ensure the reliability and safety of electrical systems. This position involves developing project design criteria and creating comprehensive design packages that guide the construction and operation of substations. The role requires collaboration with cross-functional teams, including sales and project management, to address potential challenges and provide innovative solutions. What You Bring (requirements)

Confirmed Experience:2-5 years in engineering roles within AIS/GIS Substations EPC. Technical Proficiency:Understanding of high voltage AIS/GIS equipment and electrical engineering principles. Project Engineering Skills:Proficient in engineering design, analysis, and implementation, including the ability to develop and review technical documentation and specifications. Design & Analysis:Ability to create and evaluate engineering designs, ensuring compliance with industry standards and project requirements. Problem Solving:Analytical skills to identify and resolve engineering challenges effectively. Collaboration & Communication:Excellent verbal and written communication skills for effective collaboration with project teams and stakeholders. EHS Compliance:Experience ensuring environmental, health, and safety compliance in engineering practices. Education & Certification:Minimum Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (or related field) and relevant certifications, with hands-on experience in HV-Substation design and construction. Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization.
