Job description

Accentuate Staffing is working with an established client in the automotive industry looking for a Project Engineer who wants to participate in the cradle-to-grave product development lifecycle.

Responsibilities:

1. Leads or participates on projects from Design and Development to Manufacturing Release by creating project plans and timelines, communicating progress, overcoming roadblocks, and conducting design validation testing.
2. Works alongside Manufacturing and Quality during the project design phase and handoff to ensure a smooth transition.
3. Collaborates with Manufacturing and Quality to improve product design and processes.
4. Creates test plans for products, performs tests, and writes reports.
5. Manages Engineering Change Requests.
6. Uses scientific approaches to problem solving, including design analysis, engineering calculations, and statistics.
7. Researches and analyzes design proposals and other data to evaluate feasibility, cost, and assembly requirements.
8. Specifies system components or directs modifications to ensure conformance with design and performance specifications.
9. Prepares product reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and trends.
10. Investigates and resolves product issues, determining non-conforming modes and issuing corrective actions.
11. Communicates effectively with internal and external customers and responds promptly to inquiries.
12. Meets deadlines set by internal and external customers.

Requirements:

1. Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
2. Previous experience is a plus.
3. Hands-on experience and willingness to perform testing in a lab.
4. Strong work ethic, ability to work independently and as part of a team, with leadership qualities.
5. Highly motivated, self-starter.
6. Excellent writing, presentation, communication, and organizational skills.
7. Ability to work under pressure.
8. Effective prioritization and planning skills.
9. Good problem-solving skills and a creative approach to new ideas.
10. Proficiency in SolidWorks is a plus.
