About the Role

MWH is currently seeking a qualified Project Engineer to support critical water treatment plant (WTP) construction projects in Tampa, FL or Savannah, GA.

Essential Functions
  • Provide technical support to project management and supervision staff to ensure construction work is performed efficiently, on schedule, and in accordance with company policies and engineering standards.
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement, management, package development, construction layout, material and equipment procurement, submittal review, manpower scheduling, quantity takeoffs, labor productivity reporting, document controls, material purchases, deliveries, inventory, and project controls.
  • Perform quality inspections; verify all work complies with permits, codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and distribute documentation such as materials and equipment submittals, status reports, sketches, and calculations.
  • Prepare drawings and sketches to support construction activities, change orders, estimates, etc.
  • Research drawing interpretation issues, initiate RFIs, and follow through to resolution.
  • Layout and provide building control lines and elevations for accurate installation.
  • Establish and implement office procedures related to construction contracts.
  • Manage project documentation and correspondence, record meeting minutes, review pay applications, schedules, RFIs, and progress reports.
  • Maintain up-to-date project management systems.
  • Assist with review of contractor claims, change orders, and manage related records.
  • Support estimating with quantity takeoffs and subcontractor/vendor solicitation.
  • Follow safety guidelines to ensure personal and team safety.
  • Resolve construction issues and perform additional tasks as directed.
Basic Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil, Electrical, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 2-3 years' field construction experience, preferably on large heavy civil projects.
  • Knowledge of construction equipment, drawings, materials, and standards.
  • Ability to work responsibly within a team and communicate effectively.
  • Familiarity with project management software such as Primavera, Expedition, SharePoint.
  • Willingness to travel.

  • Experience in water/wastewater construction.
