Stormwater/Water Resources Project Engineer

We are seeking a Stormwater Project Engineer with experience successfully delivering a broad range of stormwater projects to support transportation design in our Florida Division. Responsibilities include designing and analyzing open and closed storm drainage systems for transportation projects, including hydrology and hydraulic analysis related to culvert sizing, open channel design, bridge hydraulics, scour analysis, storm sewer infrastructure design, and floodplain analysis. You will contribute to a collaborative team environment, supporting the civil/transportation and structural design groups.

Location

This position offers a hybrid work schedule. When in the office, you can work from our Ft. Lauderdale, Jacksonville, Miami, Tallahassee, or Tampa locations.

The Impact You Will Have
  • Perform hydraulic and hydrology (H&H) analyses and design for transportation projects
  • Prepare drainage reports in conformance with client and industry standards
  • Assist with plan production related to drainage design, stormwater management, detention facilities, water quality/MS4, quantities, and specifications
  • Contribute to project goals, milestones, and monitor progress
  • Assist in hydrologic and hydraulic modeling, studies, reports, construction drawings, specifications, and cost estimates
  • Ensure high-quality engineering documents
  • Adhere to internal procedures for quality control, documentation, and project tracking
  • Assist with project pursuits
What You Will Need
  • Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or related discipline
  • 8-12 years of transportation drainage experience
  • PE License preferred
  • Progressive responsibility in transportation/roadway drainage design
  • Excellent communication skills, verbal and written
  • Ability to adhere to design budgets and schedules
  • Effective team collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Understanding of state, regional, and district design standards (preferred)
  • Experience developing stormwater management plans and MS4 (preferred)
  • Experience with plan production for transportation projects (preferred)
  • Experience with FDOT standards and requirements (preferred)
