Job summary

Enginious Structures, Inc., based in downtown Oakland, is seeking a Mid- to Senior level Structural Engineer for a full-time position. This role involves performing structural calculations, preparing evaluation reports, and interfacing with clients on diverse projects.

The ideal candidate holds a BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering and has P.E. certification. Benefits include health and dental insurance, retirement plan with company matching, and potential for partial telecommuting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Currently a Professional Engineer (P.E.) with the desire to obtain California SE.
  • Ability to write reports and communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

  • Perform structural calculations and prepare building evaluation reports.
  • Sketch details for CAD personnel and make revisions using AutoCAD.
  • Provide construction phase services and interface with clients.

Enginious Structures, Inc., is a small consulting firm in downtown Oakland that specializes in new residential and low-rise commercial building projects, remodels, seismic upgrades, and seismic evaluation reports as well as providing engineering services for the glazing industry.

Job Description

We are seeking an Mid - to Senior level Structural engineer to fill an immediate full-time position for a structural design engineer. The perfect candidate will be responsible for performing structural calculations and preparing building evaluation reports for a wide variety of challenging projects. Other responsibilities include sketching details for CAD personnel or making revisions using AutoCAD, providing construction phase services and interfacing with the clients. Candidate will perform assignments designed to develop one’s engineering and business knowledge and abilities.

Our portfolio of projects ranges from medical, office buildings, hotels and university campus buildings to the seismic retrofit of small apartment building and residential renovations. Because we are small employees are exposed to all types of projects and all aspects of the business.

Qualifications
  • BS or MS in Civil or Structural Engineering
  • Currently a P.E. and ability and desire to obtain a California SE preferred
  • Excellent writing and verbal skills
  • Experience with Type V construction and seismic retrofitting
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit is a plus
  • Experience with aluminum and glazing design is a big plus
