Job summary

Performance Contracting Group in Novi, MI is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Detroit 110 operations based in Novi. The role includes labor control, preparing RFIs and submittals, takeoffs to verify estimates, scheduling with field supervisors, and managing punch lists and closeout docs.

Safety-sensitive position requiring 2+ years in construction project support/management, strong communication, and teamwork. OSHA-certified candidates and those local to Detroit area are preferred.

Qualifications

• 2+ years of experience supporting or managing construction projects.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (Excel, Word, etc.).
• Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Team-oriented with ability to multitask on multiple projects.
• Strong customer service and relationship-building abilities.

• Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.


• Prepare RFI’s and submittals.


• Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders.


• Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen.


• Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation.


• Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program.


• Assist in other duties as assigned.

This position is safety sensitive.

Basic Requirements

• Must have at least 2 years’ experience supporting or managing construction projects


• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.)


• Possess a clear understanding of how to read and interpret specifications and drawings


• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.


• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.


• Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions and applying new skills as they're learned.

Preferred Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline.


• Experience with interior scopes of construction preferred.


• Experience managing specialty scopes of construction.


• OSHA certification.


• Local to the Detroit metro area.
