Job summary

Actalent is seeking a Contract Project Engineer for New York, NY. The candidate must be bilingual in Mandarin and English and willing to travel outside the US for projects.

You will support project execution under the Project Manager, coordinate on-site contractors, deliver training, and ensure compliance with codes and specifications. This remote-ready role offers competitive hourly pay and a robust benefits package.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in an engineering or technical discipline such as Mechanical, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical, Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computing, or related field.
• Strong organizational and planning abilities.
• Effective communication and coordination skills.
• Ability to participate in business and commercial negotiations.

Responsibilities

• Support project execution per plan under the Project Manager, including layout, engineering design, site prep, and commissioning.
• Assist with project controls: schedule, cost, and quality.
• Coordinate on-site contractors and vendors.
• Maintain strong customer relationships through clear communication.
• Review deliverables, identify gaps, and coordinate corrective actions.
• Develop and maintain complete project documentation.
• Deliver on-site operational and technical training to customer personnel.
• Ensure activities meet applicable codes, practices, policies, and specs.

Key Responsibilities

• Support project execution in accordance with the established project plan and under the direction of the Project Manager. Responsibilities may include facility/site layout, engineering design, site preparation, mobile robot and system commissioning, customer training, remote technical support, and production support.
• Assist with key project controls, including schedule, cost, and quality .
• Oversee and coordinate the activities of on-site contractors and vendors.
• Communicate closely with customers throughout the project to maintain strong working relationships and a high level of customer satisfaction.
• Review project deliverables, identify issues or gaps, and coordinate corrective actions when necessary.
• Develop, organize, and maintain complete project documentation.
• Deliver on-site operational and technical training to customer personnel.
• Ensure project activities and deliverables meet applicable codes, practices, policies, performance standards, and technical specifications .

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in an engineering or technical discipline such as Mechanical Engineering, Mechatronics, Robotics, Electrical Engineering, Electronics, Computer Engineering/Computing, or a related field .

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of New York, NY.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $48.08 - $55.00/hr. Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors. Eligibility requirements apply to some benefits and may depend on your job classification and length of employment.
