Job summary

Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture is seeking a Project Engineer to join the Manhattan Jail Project in New York. You will inspect the site daily, interpret drawings for crafts, and coordinate with contractors to ensure work aligns with design documents and schedules.

You’ll prepare change requisitions and as-built drawings, document progress with reports, and participate in design reviews with clients and A/E reps. Strong drafting and Procore/CAD skills are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field with 5+ years of NYC metro area construction experience.
• Experience on projects valued at 150 million USD or more is preferred.
• Strong reading of drawings and specifications; ability to interpret designs for field crews.

Responsibilities

• Inspects construction site daily and coordinates with contractors on deliveries.
• Interpret drawings for crafts and verify work against drawings and specs.
• Prepare field design change requisitions and as-built drawings.
• Document status reports, punch lists, and material calculations for supervisor.
• Review submittals, RFI's, and quality control records.
• Participate in job walks and coordinate with architecture/engineer representatives.

Tutor Perini O&G JV is seeking a Project Engineer to join the project in Manhattan, NYAbout Manhattan Jail ProjectExtraordinary Projects, Exceptional PerformanceThe $3.8B project scope includes design and construction of a new state-of-the-art facility that will have dedicated space for on-site services and programming, indoor and outdoor recreation, food services, staff offices and facilities, amenities, below-grade accessory parking, and a secured entry.The new facility will contain 1,040 beds and provide 125 accessory parking spaces below grade for all staff and service providers. In addition, the facility will provide 20,000 square feet of community and commercial space on the ground floor.Extraordinary Projects need Exceptional TalentDESCRIPTION:As a Project Engineer at Tutor Perini O&G Joint Venture., reporting to the Project Manager you will have the opportunity to:Inspects construction site daily and works with contractors to schedule deliveries.Demonstrates understanding of standard concepts, practices, and procedures within construction fieldInterprets designs and drawings for crafts installing materials and qualificationsResearch and resolves drawing interpretation problems, conflicts, interference, and errorsPrepares field design change requisitions and “as built” drawings, as requiredPrepares and disseminates all required documentation records such as status reports, punch lists describing work items to be done, sketches of work already completed, material requirement calculations, etc., to supervisorVerifies that all completed work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specificationsReviews and comments on viability of design as required. Conducts value engineering functionsAttends meetings with other contractors, clients, or A/E representatives to coordinate design and construction effortsProvides necessary building control lines and elevations for accurate measurement and correct installation of materials or equipmentDemonstrates a working knowledge of construction equipment and techniques, drawings, and specifications, building materials and required standards applicable to disciplineObserves construction work performed in the fieldCreates and processes RFI’sParticipates in job walks and documents and reports findingsUnderstands company’s quality control plan and takes weekly photos to document any quality control issuesResearches and proposes solutions to quality control issuesGenerates queries and reports in Procore softwareResponsible for the review and maintenance of Quality Assurance/Quality Control Policies and ProceduresUnderstands company safety program and participates in safety inspectionsCreates specification checklistsReview submittals against specifications.
