Jackson Contractor Group is seeking a Project Engineer to help bring our projects to life from early planning through closeout. You will coordinate with project teams, design partners, and subcontractors to ensure on-time delivery and accurate information flow.

Qualifications

  • Four-year degree from an accredited university or college in construction or a related field, or equivalent construction experience.
  • Procore, ASTA PowerProject, SketchUp, AutoCAD, and MS Office (Word/Excel) familiarity preferred.
  • Lean into coordination, scheduling, and documentation across project teams.

Responsibilities

  • Review submittals and shop drawings, coordinate material deliveries, and manage document control (RFIs, change orders, as-builts).
  • Support Project Manager with project finances by preparing monthly pay apps, processing invoices, estimating change orders, and participating in closeout and job cost reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent by interpreting drawings, assisting with production analysis, and responding to inquiries from craft and subcontractors.
  • Assist in creating and updating the project schedule.
  • Assist bid teams by performing quantity takeoffs and preparing bid packages.

Education

You will work closely with project teams, design partners, and our subcontractor community to ensure information flows accurately, materials arrive on time, and the work is executed with precision. PROJECT ENGINEER Department: Build It Direct Supervisor: Project Manager

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND FUNCTIONS
  • Review submittals and shop drawings, coordinate material deliveries, and manage document control (RFIs, change orders, as-builts, etc.) to support schedule and budget requirements.
  • Support the Project Manager with project finances by preparing monthly Owner pay applications, processing invoices, estimating change orders, and participating in closeout, budget updates, and job cost reviews.
  • Collaborate with the Project Superintendent by interpreting drawings and specifications, assisting with production analysis, and responding to craft and subcontractor inquiries.
  • Participate in creating and updating the project schedule.
  • Assist bid teams by performing quantity takeoffs, preparing bid packages, and conducting subcontractor/supplier outreach.
  • Help organize and run weekly coordination meetings and maintain accurate meeting minutes.
  • Assist in writing and executing purchase orders and subcontract agreements.
  • Engage in all project safety efforts, including safety meetings, jobsite walks, and weekly audits.
  • Maintain quality control documentation and support preparatory meetings, initial inspections, and follow-up inspections.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
