Job summary

Jobot is partnering with a top-tier demolition and carpentry subcontractor to fill a Project Engineer opportunity. You will assist project managers on varied commercial construction projects, from hospitals to schools, ensuring on-time delivery within budget and safety standards.

Ideal candidates have 1–3+ years of construction experience and a degree in Construction Management or related field, with strong communication and organizational skills.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 1–3+ years of experience in construction, preferably with exposure to demolition, interiors, or carpentry scopes.
  • Ability to read and interpret construction plans and specifications.
  • Strong understanding of building systems, construction sequencing, and jobsite operations.
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and construction management software (e.g., Procore or similar).
  • Self-starter with a strong work ethic and willingness to learn in a fast-paced environment.
  • Experience working for a subcontractor or specialty contractor.
  • Exposure to selective demolition, tenant improvements, or commercial interiors.
  • Field experience or carpentry background is highly valued.

Responsibilities

  • Assist Project Managers in planning, coordinating, and executing demolition and carpentry projects.
  • Review construction drawings, specifications, and scopes of work to ensure project accuracy.
  • Support project scheduling, budgeting, and cost tracking to ensure projects stay on time and within budget.
  • Coordinate with field teams, subcontractors, and vendors to ensure efficient workflow and execution.
  • Participate in jobsite walks, progress meetings, and safety discussions.
  • Track RFIs, submittals, change orders, and project documentation.
  • Assist in material procurement, equipment coordination, and logistics planning.
  • Monitor field progress and help identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.
  • Ensure compliance with safety standards, company policies, and project requirements.
