Job summary

Insight Global is seeking a Project Engineer for a top industrial gases and specialty chemicals client. This individual will support a growing specialty gases operation that serves high-tech industries including semiconductor and electronics manufacturers.

The Project Engineer will partner closely with process engineers, operations teams, vendors, and contractors to execute capital projects from concept through commissioning.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering (Chemical, Mechanical, or related)
  • 5+ years of engineering experience
  • Experience planning and executing capital or plant projects
  • Experience within industrial process/manufacturing environments
  • CAD proficiency and ability to modify existing drawings
  • Experience updating and maintaining P&IDs and wiring schematics
  • Project scheduling and scope development experience
  • Procurement/vendor management experience (RFQs, RFPs, equipment sourcing)
  • Strong communication and cross-functional collaboration skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Commitment to safety, compliance, and operational discipline

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with operations, suppliers, contractors, and engineering teams on capital projects
  • Update and maintain P&IDs, wiring schematics, and CAD drawings
  • Convert process flow diagrams into executable project plans
  • Develop and maintain project schedules and timelines
  • Manage project scope, execution, and commissioning activities
  • Issue RFQs/RFPs and coordinate vendor selection and procurement
  • Track project expenditures and budget performance
  • Develop project specifications and contractor scopes of work
  • Provide technical support to plant operations and project teams
  • Ensure compliance with safety regulations, company standards, and project requirements
  • Manage multiple active projects while supporting plant operations

Job description

Plusses:

  • Fluid transfer systems experience
  • Heat transfer experience
  • Mechanical, Piping, or Rotating Equipment Engineering background
  • Experience with valves, pumps, transmitters, and Swagelok products

Day-to-Day:
