Responsibilities

  • Support the project manager in overseeing pre-construction and on-site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • Prepare, track, and resolve RFIs to address design or construction issues, coordinating with vendors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Maintain strict version control for project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure all stakeholders work with the latest revisions.
  • Conduct regular site inspections to monitor progress, quality, and compliance with safety standards and project requirements.
  • Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to troubleshoot issues with materials and services, resolving on-site issues.
  • Generate and distribute progress reports, meeting minutes, and other documentation to keep stakeholders informed.
  • Assist Project Managers in developing and updating project schedules using tools like Procore or MS Project, identifying delays and proposing solutions.
  • Ensure work meets project specifications, building codes, and industry standards through regular quality checks and coordination with QA/QC teams.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Project Engineer to manage and support construction projects. This role involves coordinating with clients, project teams and 3rd-party engineering review, ensuring compliance with project contract specifications, and maintaining efficient workflows to meet deadlines and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Project Coordination : Support the project manager in overseeing pre‑construction and on‑site construction activities, ensuring alignment with project plans, schedules, and budgets.
  • Document Management Review and manage project documentation, including drawings, submittals, RFIs, and schedules, ensuring accurate and timely updates.
  • RFI Processing : Prepare, track, and resolve Requests for Information (RFIs) to address design or construction issues, coordinating with vendors, engineers, and subcontractors.
  • Version Control : Maintain strict version control for project documents, drawings, and specifications to ensure all stakeholders work with the latest revisions.

Qualifications

  • Experience :
    • 2-5 years of experience as a project engineer in construction, with on‑site project management experience.
    • Experience managing RFIs and maintaining version control for project documents.
  • Technical Skills :
    • Proficiency in project management software (e.g., MS Project, Primavera).
    • Strong understanding of construction drawings, specifications, and contracts.
    • Familiarity with building codes, safety regulations, and industry standards.
  • Soft Skills :
    • Excellent organizational and time‑management skills.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills for coordinating with diverse teams.
    • Problem‑solving mindset with attention to detail.
  • Other Requirements :
    • Ability to work on‑site full‑time and travel to project locations as needed.
    • Valid driver's license.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience with PV projects greater than 30MWdc
  • Experience with Substation and/or Transmission Construction
