Job summary

Siemens Energy's Indianapolis-based SGT-A05 Small Engine Business seeks a Project Engineer to support engineering activities and drive project success. You will gather data, prepare and present progress reports, manage schedules, and escalate issues as needed within a gated development process.

The role requires 8+ years in project management and design engineering for gas turbine engines, a B.S. in Engineering, and PMP is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Over 8 years of experience in project management and design engineering for gas turbine engines.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • PMP certification preferred.
  • Proficient in reading technical drawings and GD&T.
  • Familiar with Earned Value Analysis and MS Project.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing to meet quality targets.
  • Develop and present plans and progress reports for project business aspects.
  • Advance projects through a gated stage product development process.
  • Identify and escalate challenges and support resolutions for on-time completion.
  • Manage project assignments across functional groups to align with objectives.
  • Oversee administrative and operational aspects within program guidelines.
  • Review project and budget status, schedules, and produce comprehensive reports.
  • Ensure schedules and budgets are integrated and maintained.

As a Project Engineer, you will play a crucial role in conducting engineering activities that support the SGT-A05 product and drive the success of overall project objectives. Your responsibilities will include gathering data, preparing, analyzing, maintaining, and presenting plans and progress reports to monitor project advancement. Additionally, you will escalate issues as necessary and complete various project activities. The SGT-A05 Small Engine Business is based in Indianapolis, IN, and operates within the Aero-derivative Gas Turbine (AGT) product line of the Gas Services division.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Prepare and maintain project plans, budgets, and staffing requirements to ensure the completion of action item lists and adherence to project quality expectations.
  • Develop and present plans and progress reports related to the business aspects of projects to ensure established targets are met.
  • Advance projects through a gated stage product development process, focusing on business and design aspects.
  • Identify and escalate project challenges while supporting resolutions to ensure successful project completion.
  • Manage project assignments across various functional organizations to ensure alignment with overall project objectives.
  • Oversee and coordinate the administrative and operational aspects of ongoing projects within program guidelines.
  • Review project and budget status, manage schedules, and prepare comprehensive reports.
  • Ensure compliance with program schedules and budgets while maintaining integrated master schedules for projects.
What You Bring
  • Over 8 years of experience in project management and design engineering of gas turbine engines.
  • Preferred experience in gas turbine engine development.
  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification is preferred.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Suite, including MS Project.
  • Experience managing projects using Earned Value Analysis.
  • Ability to work collaboratively and independently with equal enthusiasm and intensity.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and writing skills.
  • Willingness and ability to travel domestically and internationally on short notice (estimated up to 10% travel).
  • Familiarity with Siemens NX and Teamcenter.
  • Ability to read technical drawings and understand GD&T requirements.
  • Applicants must be legally authorized for employment in the United States without need for current or future employer-sponsored work authorization. Siemens Energy employees with current visa sponsorship may be eligible for internal transfers.
