Job summary

Siemens Energy is seeking an Exhaust Systems Auxiliary Engineer to create technical specifications and define requirements according to design standards, while resolving manufacturing or field issues and delivering troubleshooting support for Exhaust Gas Systems.

You will coordinate with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, and other engineering teams, ensuring the supplier's solution meets requirements and interfaces, and you will participate in shop inspections, installation,

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline; 8+ years of relevant experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical gas turbine systems (air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, firefighting).
  • Ability to lead cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives domestically and internationally.
  • Strong written and verbal communication within large global teams.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare technical specifications and verify supplier bids, including risk assessment and supplier selection.
  • Review internal and external designs and documentation.
  • Support procurement on technical issues.
  • Coordinate with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, other Engineering departments, and Project Management.
  • Ensure supplier solutions align with requirements and interfaces.
  • Attend manufacturing shop inspections, provide field/site support during installation, commissioning, and warranty, and assist Bid Management.

As the Exhaust Systems Auxiliary Engineer, you will be responsible for creating technical specifications and defining requirements according to Siemens Energy design standards, fulfill tasks and targets set by the organization, resolve any issues which may arise in the manufacturing process or in the field, and provide technical support as well as trouble shooting for Exhaust Gas Systems.

How You’ll Make an Impact
  • Preparation of technical specifications, verification of supplier bids with clarifications, and technical supplier negotiations including risk assessment and commercial selection support for the Exhaust Gas system.
  • Reviewing internal and external designs and documentation.
  • Support procurement department regarding technical issues.
  • Coordination with Lead Engineer, Customer, Procurement, Suppliers, other Engineering departments, and Project Management.
  • Ensuring alignment of the supplier’s solution with requirements specification, customer needs, and interface partners.
  • Attend manufacturing shop inspections, perform field/site support during installation, commissioning, and warranty, and provide proposal support for Bid Management team.
What You Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline (or equivalent relevant experience), and 8+ years relevant technical experience.
  • Detailed knowledge of auxiliary mechanical systems of a gas turbine, such as air intake, acoustic enclosure, ventilation, and firefighting.
  • Capability to handle cross-functional and cross-product line initiatives, domestically and internationally.
  • Ability to work as part of a larger global engineering team in a collaborative manner.
  • Ability to effectively communicate in both written and verbal form and to interface within a wide range of organizations both internally and externally.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
