Qualifications

• 8+ years' experience in industrial engineering or project delivery.
• Background in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or related discipline.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems, VFDs and motor control.
• Willingness to travel across North America, especially the Midwest.

Responsibilities

• Take technical ownership of projects from design to commissioning.
• Coordinate with engineering teams, contractors and clients to meet standards.
• Perform FAT/SAT and client handover.

Job description

Venogy Talent are working with a growing international engineering business delivering technically complex projects across North America, with a particular focus on the Midwest.

We're looking for an experienced Project Engineer who enjoys being hands-on, taking technical ownership and seeing projects through from initial engineering and design review to commissioning and final client handover.

This is a senior, field-based opportunity involving large-scale industrial facilities, electrical infrastructure, automation and process optimisation.

What you'll be doing

You'll take technical ownership of projects involving:

• Medium and Low Voltage electrical systems, switchgear and motor control
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs) and industrial power systems
• Industrial automation, PLCs and SCADA systems
• Electrical installation, integration and commissioning
• Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
• Technical troubleshooting, system optimisation and client handover
• Work closely with engineering teams, contractors and industrial clients, ensuring projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the required technical standards.

Requirements

• 8+ years' experience in industrial engineering or project delivery
• A background in Electrical Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics or a related discipline
• Strong practical knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems, VFDs and motor control
• Experience with industrial automation and control systems
• Proven experience commissioning and troubleshooting equipment in operational industrial facilities
• The ability to take technical ownership and work independently
• Strong communication and client-facing skills
• Willingness to travel across North America, particularly the Midwest
• Experience in steel, metals, mining, cement, manufacturing, utilities or other heavy industrial/process environments would be highly advantageous.
