Job summary

Energy Drive Systems is seeking a seasoned Project Engineer to lead technically complex projects across North America. You will own the delivery from design reviews through commissioning, FAT/SAT and client handover on site.

The role requires 10+ years in heavy industrial projects, a background in Electrical Engineering/Automation/Mechatronics, and strong MV/LV and VFD expertise. Travel across North America is expected.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience delivering heavy industrial engineering projects.
• Background in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics.
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems and VFDs.
• Experience with industrial automation platforms (Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider, ABB).
• Commissioning and troubleshooting experience in live industrial environments.
• Fluency in English; willingness to travel across North America.

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical delivery of projects involving MV/LV electrical systems and VFDs.
• Oversee PLC/SCADA implementation, energy optimisation and process improvements.
• Manage FAT/SAT, commissioning, troubleshooting and client handover.
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams to ensure safe, efficient delivery.
• Maintain high engineering standards and project documentation.
• Travel across North America, mainly mid-west, for site work.

Project Engineer, North America

Energy Drive Systems is a global leader in industrial energy efficiency, delivering Intelligent Motor Control and Energy Efficiency-as-a-Service (EEaaS) solutions to heavy industry. As we continue expanding across North America, we're looking for an experienced Project Engineer to support the delivery of technically complex projects throughout the region.

This is a senior, field-based role for an engineer who enjoys taking ownership—from technical design reviews through commissioning, optimisation and final client handover.

What You'll Be Doing

You'll lead the technical delivery of projects involving:

• Medium & Low Voltage electrical systems
• Variable Frequency Drives (VFDs)
• Industrial automation and PLC/SCADA systems
• Energy optimisation and industrial process improvements
• Factory and Site Acceptance Testing (FAT/SAT)
• Commissioning, troubleshooting and client handover

Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you'll ensure projects are delivered safely, efficiently and to the highest engineering standards.

Requirements

• 10+ years' experience delivering heavy industrial engineering projects
• A background in Electrical Engineering, Automation or Mechatronics
• Strong knowledge of MV/LV electrical systems and Variable Frequency Drives
• Experience with industrial automation platforms such as Siemens, Rockwell, Schneider or ABB
• Commissioning and troubleshooting experience within live industrial environments
• Professional fluency in English
• Willingness to travel across North America (mainly mid-west)

Experience within steel, mining, manufacturing, utilities, process industries or other heavy industrial environments would be highly advantageous.
