Ames Construction in Utah is seeking a Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager and Senior Project Engineer on a heavy civil project in Hyrum. You will support the project team, coordinate with owners, design partners, and subs, review shop drawings and RFIs, and help manage safety and quality programs.

This position requires strong communication and organization, plus travel to project sites. Strong candidates will have at least 2 years in construction, a related degree, and proficiency

Formación

• Bachelor’s degree in construction-related field or equivalent experience.
• Minimum 2 years of construction project experience.
• Proficient in Primavera P6 and Microsoft Office.
• Valid driver’s license and willingness to travel.

Responsabilidades

• Support project team including PM, engineers, and superintendents.
• Engage with owners, design partners, subcontractors, and workers.
• Review shop drawings, submittals, schedules, and RFIs.
• Monitor quality control, safety, and environmental programs.
• Assist with project layout and procurement of long-lead items.
• Assist with monthly billings and cash-flow projections.
• Manage document control and submittal schedules.
• Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials.
• Resolve field conflicts with subcontractors and suppliers.
• Promote safety as a top priority.
• Maintain as-built drawings and manuals.
• Attend and/or lead meetings.
• Other duties as assigned.

The Project Engineer will assist and support the Project Manager and/or Senior Project Engineer as well as the project staff in the technical day-to-day project management responsibilities of a specific project.

Essential Functions

• Support a team consisting of Project Manager, Project Engineers, Superintendents, and other staff

• Build relationships and communicate with owners, design partners, subcontractors, & workforce

• Review shop drawing, submittals and schedules, and process RFIs

• Monitoring the quality control, safety and environmental programs

• Understand and assist with project layout

• Identify critical work items, and procure long-lead items

• Assist with monthly billings, cash flow projections, and process change orders

• Manage document control including submittals schedules, contract documents, and shop drawings

• Assist with delivery, inventory, and warehousing of materials and equipment

• Resolve field problems and conflicts with subcontractors, suppliers, and workforce

• Instill safety as a top priority

• Maintaining as-built drawings & manuals

• Attend and/or lead meetings

• Other duties may be assigned.

Qualifications

• Strong communication skills both written and oral

• Must have a positive attitude and possess excellent motivations skills

• Time Management, multitasking, and prioritization are crucial

• Possess high attention to detail with the ability to recognize discrepancies

• A minimum of 2 years’ experience in construction

• Bachelor’s degree in Construction, Civil Engineering, or Construction Management, or equivalent experience

• Competent in the use of computer software applications used for project control and administration, including Microsoft Applications and Outlook

• Knowledgeable in Primavera

• Must have a valid Driver’s License

Working Conditions

• Location – This project is located in Hyrum, UT. Subsequent projects will be nationally based.

• Travel – This role will be expected to travel to project locations and regional offices

• Construction site environment – physical ability to stand, walk, crawl, bend, reach and climb. Exposed to high noise levels.
