Job summary

Jacobs Engineering Group Inc. in Guaynabo, Puerto Rico is seeking a Project Engineer to support the Program Management team in delivering infrastructure and construction projects. You will work with Construction Managers and stakeholders to ensure successful project execution.

The role develops project management and construction oversight skills, with a focus on reporting, change management, and project controls. This on-site position includes competitive compensation and benefits.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or related Engineering.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in engineering, construction, or project management activities.
• Bilingual in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and project documentation management tools.

Responsibilities

• Support the Construction Manager with day to day construction management and contract administration activities.
• Assist in monitoring project scope, schedule, budget, and overall project performance.
• Prepare and maintain weekly, monthly, and annual construction progress reports.
• Review contractor payment applications and monthly certifications for completeness and accuracy.
• Support project documentation and electronic filing efforts to ensure compliance with project and organizational requirements.
• Assist in the preparation and processing of change orders, contract modifications, and related documentation.
• Support project controls activities, including work breakdown structures, cost tracking, earned value reporting, and project status reporting.
• Maintain and update project logs, including RFIs, submittals, meeting minutes, allowances, and change orders.
• Coordinate with project team members, contractors, consultants, and client representatives to support project delivery.
• Participate in project meetings and assist with documenting actions, decisions, and follow up items.
• Promote and support Jacobs’ commitment to safety, quality, ethics, and continuous improvement programs.
• Perform engineering assignments and analyses under the guidance of senior project and construction management staff.

Your impact

Here’s what you’ll need

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Construction, or a related Engineering discipline.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience supporting engineering, construction, or project management activities.
• Bilingual proficiency in English and Spanish, both written and verbal.
• Strong organizational, communication, and problem solving skills.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite and project documentation management tools.

Ideally, you’ll also have

• Experience supporting infrastructure, transportation, water, or vertical construction projects.
• Knowledge of project controls, scheduling, cost management, and construction administration processes.
• Experience working in a consulting engineering or program management environment.

The base salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $65,000.00. Within the range, individual pay is determined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training.
