Job summary

Pacer Group is seeking a contract Project Manager to lead engineering-driven construction projects. The role involves evaluating feasibility, preparing bid packages, reviewing drawings, and ensuring safety and regulatory compliance on-site with multiple stakeholders.

The position requires hands-on engineering background, 3+ years in manufacturing and project management, and the ability to coordinate with contractors, engineers, and vendors.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, negotiate changes.

• Coordinate installation with trades, engineers and equipment manufacturers.
• Supervise contractors in green-field or brown-field environments.

Employment Type: Contract

Domain: Construction/Automotive/Commercial construction

Shift: Monday-Friday, Standard Shift

Pay rate: $48 - $53/hr. on W2

Note: Overtime: ~20% required (weekends and shutdown support). Willingness and flexibility to work on weekends when required. Travel: Up to 10% (domestic and international - Canada, Mexico, vendors, NAMC sites).

What you'll be doing:

• Investigate project feasibility, scope, schedule and budget.
• Create scope of work, bid package and project specifications.
• Review technical drawings, provide feedback, negotiate changes.
• Evaluate safety compliance to local and national codes.
• Collaborate with 3rd party Safety Compliance Contractors.
• Collaborate with multiple groups to design and install equipment and meet project milestones.
• Supervise contractors in a green-field or brown-field work environment.
• Coordinate installation with skilled trades, affiliate companies, engineers and equipment manufacturers.
• Develop countermeasures for project delays for timely project completion.

Qualifications:

• BS In Engineering (Mechanical, Chemical, and other relevant disciplines), Technical Trader Certification or equivalent experience.
• 3+ years manufacturing environment.
• 3+ years project management.
• Microsoft Office Software proficient (Excel, PowerPoint and Word etc.).
• Review/modification of drawing in AutoCAD proficiency.
• 2+ years Technical Drawing review experience.

Must Have:

• Hands-on engineering background combined with trade experience (practical, execution-focused).
• Project management experience, preferably managing projects valued at $500K or more.
• Strong coordination and collaboration skills.
• Ability to work effectively with multiple stakeholders and team members.
