Job summary

Cowtown Materials, Inc. is seeking a Project Engineer in Fort Worth, TX to identify opportunities, build client relationships, and close bid work. You will work with the sales team, review specs, and prepare submittals and cost estimates for pre-construction.

Site visits and coordination with vendors ensure quality installations. The role requires CAD and Revit proficiency, experience in take-offs, and 18+ months in project management or estimating within the construction industry.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or related field and 18 months of experience in Project Management or Estimating.
  • Experience with building/construction industry practices and drawings, specs, blueprint plans.
  • Proficiency in CAD and Revit; familiarity with Bluebeam and take-off software.
  • Sales/marketing exposure in the building industry and cost estimation experience.

Responsibilities

  • Review specifications to inform market conditions and product strategies.
  • Prepare submittals, shop drawings, and conceptual cost estimates for pre-construction.

  • Manage projects from order through installation and coordinate vendors and contractors.
  • Travel up to 10% domestically for training and site visits.

Job description

PROJECT ENGINEER

Cowtown Materials, Inc. seeks a Project Engineer in Fort Worth, TX (Garden Acres, TX),
401 Garden Acres Drive, Fort Worth, Texas

Duties & Responsibilities:
  • Identify potential jobs and customers, build a relationship with these customers, and close the bid work with them.
  • Work with our current general line sales team to close jobs.
  • Facilitate leads through General Contractors, End Users, and Institutions.
  • Review specifications to ensure management is informed of market conditions and means to better our door division.
  • Prepare all submittals and shop drawings for approval by the owner and architect.
  • Perform site visits as needed to oversee work and advise field personnel to help make sure proper construction procedures are being followed.
  • Investigate damages, accidents or loss of materials and work with insurance and vendors to reverse schedule delays.
  • Prepare and submit specialty product proposals for sales staff and their customers. Prepare proposal by conducting take-offs, perform cost estimation in accurately and timely manner.*
  • Prepare conceptual cost estimates, value engineering reports, budgetary and feasibility estimates for pre-construction processes.*
  • Manage closed project work from order through installation. Act as a liaison between vendors, purchasers, salesmen, and contractors to ensure a quality installation and to increase company sales/margin dollars on specialty ceiling products.*
  • 10% Domestic travel required (training, occasional site visits 1-2 days, and/or visiting other offices).
MINIMUM QUALICATIONS:
  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field and 18 months of experience in Project Management or Estimating occupation.
Experience must include:
  • 18 months of experience with building and construction industry and business practices.
  • 18 months of experience with drawings, specifications, and blueprint plans.
  • 18 months of experience with CAD and Revit - Computer Aided Design Software.*
  • 12 months of experience in Sales and Marketing within building industry.
  • 12 months of experience in Cost Estimation.
  • 12 months of experience with Quantity Take-off.
  • 12 months of experience with Bluebeam - Quantity Take-off Software or similar software.
  • 12 months of experience with On-Screen Takeoff (OST) - Quantity Take-off Software
  • 12 months of experience with Dodge Data, ISqft, Construct Connect - Bidding Platforms.
