The Weitz Company, a prominent general contractor, seeks a Project Engineer I/II – Project Management in Des Moines, IA. You will support preconstruction through closeout, organizing docs, reviewing RFIs, and coordinating with trades to keep schedules and budgets on track.

Ideal candidates hold an industry-related degree, have at least two years in construction project management, and are proficient with MS Office; Lean and OSHA 30 are a plus.

Qualifications

• Industry related degree required.
• Minimum of two years construction project management experience preferred.
• LEAN principles experience desirable.
• OSHA 30 preferred or willingness to obtain upon hire.
• Industrial construction experience preferred.

Responsabilités

• Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings.
• Collaborate with project team to complete RFIs.
• Review submittals for accuracy against plans and specs.
• Assist in inspections, compliance audits, and non-conformance logs.
• Manage material and equipment delivery status.
• Maintain and distribute accurate project logs.
• Draft scopes of work for subcontracts or purchase orders.
• Track subcontractor change requests; draft change orders.
• Use virtual design tools to aid coordination.
• Obtain and manage closeout info; gather punch lists and assist warranty.
• Travel or relocate to assigned work as needed.

Project Engineer I/II – Project Management Full time – Des Moines, Iowa

Job Description

The Project Engineer I/II is responsible for several functions throughout the duration of assigned projects including preconstruction, planning, buyout, management and closeout. This role actively monitors project status and informs the project team of any issues that may impact the project schedule and/or budget. The Project Engineer I/II typically reports to the Project Manager and may supervise other site personnel. What You’ll Do

• Organize, review, update, maintain, and post construction documents/drawings
• Collaborate with project team to complete requests for information (RFI)
• Review submittals and other project documents for accuracy against plans and specifications
• Assist in preparing inspections, compliance audits, and the non-conformance log
• Manage material and equipment delivery status
• Maintain and distribute accurate project logs
• Draft scopes of work to be included in subcontracts and/or purchase order agreements
• Track subcontractor requests for change; solicit pricing and draft change orders within delegated authority
• Utilize virtual design tools to assist with project coordination
• Obtain and manage closeout information, gather punch list items, prepare as-built drawings, and assist with warranty process
• Travel and/or relocate to specified work assignments based on the needs of the company

Experience

• Industry related degree required
• Minimum of two (2) years of construction project management experience is preferred
• LEAN principles experience is desirable
• OSHA 30 preferred, or the willingness to obtain upon hire
• Industrial construction is preferred
