Job summary

BNBuilders in Denver, CO is seeking a Project Engineer responsible for reading construction documents, performing cost estimates and quantity surveys, coordinating trades, and gaining exposure to BIM.

You will work with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel; manage RFIs/Submittals and subcontractors, and ensure work complies with drawings and specs. Office and site collaboration is expected.

Qualifications

  • Graduate or pending graduate of a four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
  • LEAN and BIM knowledge; BIM experience a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.
  • Generate RFIs and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors.
  • Act as information hub to ensure continuity of work.
  • Provide technical information to ensure compliance with codes, drawings, and specs.
  • Coordinate change orders and assist in estimates.
  • Monitor project quality control metrics and report findings.
  • Inspect all work for plan/spec compliance.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for reading and understanding the construction design documents and specifications, ability to perform construction cost estimates and quantity surveys for various scopes of work, overall trade management and coordination, and some level of exposure to BIM.

SALARY RANGE

$75,000 - $95,000 annually (companywide)

Job Responsibilites
  • Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.
  • Responsible for generating Request for Information (RFI) and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors.
  • Act as the information hub to ensure continuity of work.
  • Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • May coordinate change orders, expedite material and job site equipment, assist in preparation of estimates, and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress.
  • Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis; provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to Project Manager or Superintendent, as appropriate.
  • Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned in support of business needs and the essential functions of the role.
Qualifications
  • Exercise general supervision of multiple job sites to monitor and manage projects during each phase of construction; including but not limited to pre-construction, construction, closeout, and post-construction
  • Graduate or pending graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Full knowledge of computer software, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Working knowledge of Autocad or Revit a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of LEAN and BIM techniques.
  • Experience with BIM is a plus.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.

Capable of traversing over construction-type terrain when under development; moving through the construction site and the materials in place for use on the site; climbing ladders and temporary stairways; conducting visual inspections of quality of construction and materials being used in construction. WORK ENVIRONMENT

BNB believes in collaboration, team-building, and a strong supervisor/employee relationship. To accomplish this, the duties of this role are not performed in a remote capacity, and we expect that all employees will complete work in an office/job site setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
