Job summary

BNBuilders is seeking a Project Engineer to interpret construction documents, perform cost estimates, and coordinate trades across multiple scopes. The role centers on ensuring alignment with designs, schedules, and budgets while supporting field and office teams on active projects.

The ideal candidate will have a four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management, 1+ year GC experience, and familiarity with AutoCAD or Revit.

Qualifications

• Graduate or near graduate in Engineering or Construction Management.
• At least 1 year of GC experience and related construction exposure.
• Proficient with MS Office and able to read construction drawings.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate with architects, designers, owners, and field staff.
• Generate RFIs and submittals for trades and scopes.
• Manage project subcontractors and monitor progress.
• Serve as information hub to ensure continuity of work.
• Provide technical input to ensure code and spec compliance.
• Support change orders, material expediting, and data analysis.
• Track quality control metrics and report to PM/Superintendent.
• Inspect work for plan and spec adherence.

Job Summary

The Project Engineer is responsible for reading and understanding the construction design documents and specifications, ability to perform construction cost estimates and quantity surveys for various scopes of work, overall trade management and coordination.

Salary Range

$90,000 - $110,000 annually

Job Responsibilites

• Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, and field personnel.
• Responsible for generating Request for Information (RFI) and submittals.
• Manage project subcontractors.
• Act as the information hub to ensure continuity of work.
• Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
• May coordinate change orders, expedite material and job site equipment, assist in preparation of estimates, and compile data to assist in analyzing project progress.
• Monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis; provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to Project Manager or Superintendent, as appropriate.
• Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.

Qualifications

• Graduate or pending graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
• Minimum 1 year of experience having worked for a General Contractor
• Full knowledge of computer software, i.e. Microsoft Office Suite.
• Working knowledge of Autocad or Revit a plus.
• Broad knowledge of LEAN and BIM techniques.
• Experience with BIM is a plus.
• Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good oral and written communication skills.

Work Environment

To accomplish this, the duties of this role are not performed in a remote capacity, and we expect that all employees will complete work in an office/job site setting. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of extreme conditions at the job site. The noise level in the work environment and job site can be loud.
