Job summary

BNBuilders is seeking a Senior Project Engineer to assist the Project Manager on assigned projects. The role supports daily activities, gathers information, and acts as a hub to ensure project continuity.

The salary range is $85,000 - $105,000 per year. The position requires a four-year degree in Engineering or Construction Management and at least 3 years of relevant experience, with proficiency in MS Office and project controls software; BIM/LEAN knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

  • Graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
  • Proficiency with MS Word, Excel, and MS Project; Primavera scheduling software a plus.
  • Experience with Project Controls software such as Timberline or Prolog.

Responsibilities

  • Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Generate RFIs and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors including coordination, procurement, budget and invoicing.
  • Act as information hub to ensure continuity of work.
  • Provide estimating services.
  • Monitor and report project quality control metrics.
  • Inspect all work for compliance with plans and specifications.
  • May supervise staff and mentors engineers/interns.
  • May manage project schedule with the Superintendent.

Job Summary

The Senior Project Engineer assists and supports the Project Manager on assigned projects. The position works under direct supervision, performs routine daily activities, and gathers and distributes information.

SALARY RANGE: $85,000 - $105,000 annually

Job Responsibilites
  • Coordinate with project architects, designers, owners, subcontractors and field personnel.
  • Responsible for generating Request for Information (RFI) and submittals.
  • Manage project subcontractors including coordination, procurement of materials and equipment, monitoring budget and cost, manage billings, etc.
  • Act as the information hub to ensure continuity of work.
  • Offer technical information to project supervisor to ensure work complies with applicable codes, drawings, and specifications.
  • Prepare and execute subcontracts and subcontractor change orders, including time extensions. May prepare and execute owner change orders.
  • Provide estimating services.
  • Primary responsibility to monitor and track project quality control metrics and activities on a regular basis, provide timely and accurate quality reports, and raise issues to Project Manager or Superintendent as appropriate.
  • Inspect all work to ensure compliance with plans and specifications.
  • Maintain critical project logs (submittal, change order, etc.)
  • May supervise staff, including establishing and communicating performance expectations, providing positive and constructive feedback, and conducting on-the-job training of project engineers and interns.
  • May be responsible for managing project schedule with the project Superintendent.
Qualifications
  • Graduate of a four-year degree program in Engineering or Construction Management.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience assisting or supervising construction projects of increasing complexity.
  • Full knowledge of computer software, i.e. MS Word, Excel, Project. Knowledge of Primavera scheduling software a plus.
  • Experience with Project Controls software (Timberline, Prolog or equal).
  • Working knowledge Autocad or Revit a plus.
  • Broad knowledge of LEAN and BIM techniques.
  • Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
