We're supporting a growing power protection & distribution equipment manufacturer with a Project Manager opportunity for their production facility in the Spring/Tomball area. This direct hire position will support company leadership with ensuring projects are on schedule and within budget. Ideal candidate will be familiar with low & medium voltage switchgear, MCC's, PCR's, and other electrical equipment projects, and have experience with in-person and virtual client meetings.
Position Summary
The Project Manager is responsible for leading the execution of electrical infrastructure and power distribution projects from contract release through production, shipment, and closeout. This role ensures alignment across Engineering, Production, Supply Chain, Quality, and Customer stakeholders.
This role plays a critical function in ensuring that scope, schedule, cost, and execution are aligned, enabling projects to progress efficiently from engineering release through production and final delivery. The position requires strong ownership, leadership, and the ability to drive accountability in a fast-paced, project-driven environment.
Key Responsibilities
1. Project Execution & Ownership
- Maintain and drive project schedules, trackers, and execution plans
- Track project milestones, deliverables, and key deadlines across all active jobs
- Ensure alignment between:
- Engineering release timelines
- Material availability
- Production schedule
- Lead execution meetings and drive accountability across all teams
- Identify risks, delays, and constraints and drive mitigation actions
- Ensure projects progress according to committed timelines
2. Financial & Commercial Management
- Own project financial performance including:
- Labor tracking
- Material costs
- Overall project margin
- Ensure alignment between procurement, execution, and budget
- Support billing milestones and project invoicing
- Identify and elevate cost risks early
- Maintain visibility of financial performance throughout project lifecycle
3. Change Management & Engineering Coordination
- Own and enforce Engineering Request and Change Order processes
- Ensure all changes are documented, reviewed, and approved prior to execution
- Prevent uncontrolled changes in production
- Coordinate implementation of approved changes across teams
- Ensure drawings, BOMs, and documentation match actual build
4. Cross-Functional Coordination
- Coordinate communication between:
- Engineering
- Production
- Quality
- Supply Chain
- Ensure readiness for production including drawings, BOMs, and materials
- Remove blockers impacting execution
- Support production flow and scheduling alignment
5. Customer Communication & Interface
- Act as primary customer contact post-project kickoff
- Provide regular updates on:
- Schedule
- Progress
- Risks
- Issues
- Manage customer expectations and resolution of issues
- Coordinate customer approvals, inspections, and deliverables
6. Documentation & Project Control
- Maintain project documentation including:
- Customer PO and scope
- Drawings and revisions
- Change orders
- Project reports
- Ensure documentation is current and aligned with execution
- Track approvals and revisions
7. Communication & Issue Resolution
- Maintain clear communication across all stakeholders
- Escalate issues impacting schedule, cost, or quality
- Drive issue resolution and accountability
- Ensure closure of action items
8. General Responsibilities
- Follow company processes and standards
- Drive continuous improvement in execution
- Maintain organization and accountability
- Perform additional duties as required
Qualifications
Required
- 5+ years experience in:
- Project management
- Electrical or industrial projects
- Manufacturing environments
- Strong understanding of project execution and scheduling
- Ability to manage multiple projects
- Strong communication and leadership skills
