The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline, and hands-on experience with highway, utilities or site development work.

Responsibilities

  • Support day-to-day project management and field operations.
  • Review plans, specifications and construction documents.
  • Manage RFIs, submittals and project correspondence.
  • Assist with project scheduling and cost tracking.
  • Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers and stakeholders.
  • Track quantities, production and project progress.
  • Support change orders and pay applications.
  • Assist with procurement and material coordination.
  • Maintain accurate project documentation.
  • Work with field teams to keep projects on schedule and within budget.

Project Engineer – Heavy Civil Construction

Location: Columbia, MO

Type: Full-Time

A leading Midwest heavy civil contractor is looking to add a Project Engineer to its growing team in Columbia, Missouri.

The company delivers major highway, roadway, bridge, earthwork, utility and infrastructure projects across the region and is looking for a Project Engineer who wants to develop their career on complex civil construction projects.

The Role

You’ll work closely with Project Managers and Superintendents, supporting the successful delivery of projects from preconstruction through completion.

Responsibilities include:

  • Supporting day-to-day project management and field operations
  • Reviewing plans, specifications and construction documents
  • Managing RFIs, submittals and project correspondence
  • Assisting with project scheduling and cost tracking
  • Coordinating with subcontractors, suppliers and project stakeholders
  • Tracking quantities, production and project progress
  • Supporting change orders and pay applications
  • Assisting with procurement and material coordination
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation
  • Working closely with field teams to ensure projects remain on schedule and within budget
What We’re Looking For
  • Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management or a related discipline
  • Heavy civil, highway, utilities, earthwork, concrete or site development experience
  • Ability to read and interpret construction drawings and specifications
  • Strong communication and organisational skills
  • Experience working alongside Project Managers and Superintendents
  • DOT/public infrastructure experience is advantageous
