Job summary

Barnard in White Plains, NY seeks Project Engineer(s) to join a heavy-civil construction team working on dam, tunneling, and infrastructure projects across North America. You will support cost control, scheduling, submittals, and coordination with field crews and subcontractors.

Ideal candidates have an undergraduate degree in Engineering or related field, willingness to relocate/travel in NY metro area and Northeast, strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work

Responsibilities

• Involved in operations of cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting of revenue and costs accruals.
• Accumulate data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Process and estimate change orders and RFIs as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain a complete record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals.

Qualifications

• Undergraduatedegree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management orarelatedfield. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
• Project siteswilllocatedin the New Yorkmetroarea and/or the Northeast, so relocation and/or travelarerequired.

• High levelof involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participateinmonthlyforecasting revenue andcostsaccruals.
• Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Processand estimate change orders and RequestsforInformation as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
• Process/manage materialdeliveries– ensure that materialsreceivedareproperly inspectedfor quantity and quality and in compliance withContract documents.
• Manageand negotiatesubcontractorand material contracts.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedule.
• Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).
