Job summary

BARNARD NE, LLC in White Plains, NY is seeking a Project Manager to lead the project team on heavy civil infrastructure initiatives across the New York metro and Northeast region. You will coordinate with senior management, clients, and field staff to ensure project goals, safety, and compliance are met on time and within budget.

The role requires extensive experience in heavy civil projects, site supervision, and a proactive leadership style.

Qualifications

  • Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Admin (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will be considered.
  • 10 years of heavy civil construction experience in New York metro area.
  • Experience with alternative delivery contracts including CMAR, Design-Build, CMGC, Progressive Design-Build, P3, etc. preferred
  • Must be willing to work project sites located in the New York metro area and/or Northeast, so relocation and/or travel are required
  • Experience supervising multiple project engineers
  • Heavy civil construction background/experience managing diverse projects including bridges, underground, transit, and other heavy civil infrastructure
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Safety-oriented, 10-hour and 30-hour OSHA certificates are preferred
  • Strong work ethic - Willing to do what it takes to get the job done
  • Ability to function as a team-builder/player

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for managing and directing the project team by providing the communication, coordination and follow-up necessary to meet the project goals and objectives
  • Directly responsible to senior management
  • Provides ongoing project information and project reviews as required by management
  • Coordinates training and compliance measures to ensure project procedures are followed
  • Ensures scope of work, schedule, and budget are clearly defined and understood by senior management and all project participants, including client
  • Determines, controls, and maintains overall project and discipline schedules and budgets
  • Tracks schedule and budget progress with project milestones and takes all action necessary to keep project on track
  • Identifies and secures necessary approvals for all changes in project scope, budget and/or schedule
  • Maintains ongoing training and mentoring of project team
  • Maintains ongoing communication with client, making adjustments as necessary to comply with client’s needs within contractual obligations, or adjusting project deliverables to meet the client and Barnard’s needs
