Job summary

Barnard Construction Company, Inc. in Bozeman, Montana, is seeking a qualified cost control professional to join our operations team in California.

You will engage in cost analysis, forecast revenue and costs accruals, and prepare monthly pay estimates for ongoing projects across North America. Responsibilities include processing change orders and RFIs, coordinating submittals, managing material deliveries, and negotiating subcontractor contracts while working closely with field teams to keep

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate; projects domestically and internationally.
• Strong organizational and time management skills.
• High attention to detail and ability to spot discrepancies.
• Discipline to work independently or as part of a team.
• Ability to access all points of a construction site in varying environments.

Responsibilities

• Involved in the operations of the cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting of revenue and costs accruals.
• Prepare monthly pay estimates with essential data.
• Process and estimate change orders and RFIs as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain records of submittals, approvals and resubmittals.
• Manage material deliveries and ensure quality inspections align with contract documents.
• Negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedules.
• Collaborate with field construction personnel to support project delivery.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate degree in Engineering, Business Administration (Accounting, Management or Finance), Construction Management or related field. Equivalent experience in a construction-related position will also be considered.
• Must be willing to travel and relocate. Project sites are located domestically and internationally, so relocation and/or travel are required.

Responsibilities

• High level of involvement in the operations of our cost control system and analysis of construction costs.
• Participate in monthly forecasting revenue and costs accruals.
• Accumulate all necessary data and prepare monthly pay estimates.
• Process and estimate change orders and Requests for Information as directed by Project Manager.
• Coordinate and schedule shop drawings and submittals.
• Maintain a complete and current record of submittals, approvals, and resubmittals, including a file of letters of transmittal and dates of each transaction.
• Process/manage material deliveries - ensure that materials received are properly inspected for quantity and quality and in compliance with Contract documents.
• Manage and negotiate subcontractor and material contracts.
• Assist in developing and updating project schedule.
• Work closely with field construction personnel (Superintendents, Foremen and Crews).
