Job summary

Wolf Line Construction seeks a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support fiber optic and utility infrastructure projects—from design review through closeout. You’ll ensure deliverables meet quality standards and client specs, while coordinating with teams and stakeholders.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred in engineering or construction management.
  • Experience in fiber optic, telecom, or utility construction.
  • Ability to interpret OSP/ISP drawings, utility plans, and engineering specifications.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to documentation and reporting.
  • Willingness to travel across the US.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office; Power BI experience is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Support multiple fiber and utility projects through engineering design coordination and quality review.
  • Analyze construction drawings, fiber network designs, and technical specifications for accuracy and compliance.
  • Assist with project reporting, tracking quality metrics, schedules, and deliverable status.
  • Develop labor, equipment, and resource forecasts to support project planning and execution.
  • Perform material take-offs for fiber optic cable, conduit, handholes, and related materials.
  • Coordinate procurement of project materials and support vendor and purchasing activities.
  • Prepare and maintain final project documentation, including closeout and turnover packages.
  • Produce and deliver final as-built drawings reflecting installed underground and aerial work.
  • Ensure documentation aligns with client standards, permitting requirements, and utility regulations.
  • Support continuous improvement to enhance project quality and efficiency.

Wolf Line Construction is a growing construction company that provides fiber optic installation services throughout the United States. Wolf Line Construction operates in partnership with its clients to provide fiber optic and energized space installations, throughout the U.S. We leverage our combined experience, industry expertise/relationships, committed team, and network of line work professionals to appropriately resource and execute projects for our clients

Position Summary:

Wolf Line is seeking a detail-oriented Project Engineer to support fiber optic and utility infrastructure projects through design review, engineering analysis, and project documentation. This role is responsible for ensuring all project deliverables meet internal quality standards, client requirements, and industry regulations from initial design through final closeout.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Support multiple fiber and utility projects through engineering design coordination and quality review
  • Analyze construction drawings, fiber network designs, and technical specifications for accuracy and compliance
  • Assist with project reporting, tracking quality metrics, schedules, and deliverable status
  • Develop labor, equipment, and resource forecasts to support project planning and execution
  • Perform material take-offs (MTO) for fiber optic cable, conduit, handholes, and related utility materials
  • Coordinate procurement of project materials and support vendor and purchasing activities
  • Prepare and maintain final project documentation, including closeout and turnover packages
  • Produce and deliver final as-built drawings reflecting completed underground and aerial installations
  • Ensure documentation aligns with client standards, permitting requirements, and utility regulations
  • Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance project quality and operational efficiency
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)
  • Experience in fiber optic, telecom, or utility construction environments
  • Ability to interpret OSP/ISP drawings, utility plans, and engineering specifications
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in documentation and reporting
  • Communicate and interact with internal employees, colleagues, and clients professionally
  • Excellent computer skills beyond basic Word, PowerPoint, and Excel
  • Travel to different job sites as required across the US
  • Experience using Power BI for reporting, dashboards, and data analysis (preferred)
