Job summary

Performance Contracting Group is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its Carmel, IN operations, based in Indianapolis. The role handles labor control, RFIs, takeoffs, scheduling, and QA/QC support on mechanical insulation projects.

Requirements include 2+ years on construction projects, strong communication, and teamwork. A Bachelor's in Construction Management or related field is preferred, with relocation if not local to the Indianapolis area.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite products (e.g., Excel, Word, etc.).
  • Ability to read and interpret specifications and drawings.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to learn new skills by engaging in the technical job functions.
  • Strong customer service skills and relationship-building abilities.
  • Ability to prioritize and multitask while handling multiple projects concurrently.
  • Motivated self-starter with strong work ethic and initiative.
  • Works well under pressure and deadlines.
  • Possess critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance.

Job Description

PCI is seeking an experienced Project Engineer for its PCI Indianapolis, IN 551 Mechanical Insulation operations based in Carmel, IN.

Job responsibilities include:

  • Perform labor control on assigned projects, including setup and maintenance
  • Prepare RFI's and submittals
  • Quantitative takeoffs to verify estimates, order materials, and price change orders
  • Create and implement job schedules and coordinate with field supervisors and foremen
  • Create and manage punch lists and job closeout documentation
  • Support the Quality Control measures outlined in the QA/QC program
  • Assist in other duties as assigned

Salary range: $75,100 - $101,000 annual salary plus non-guaranteed annualized bonus program.

This position is safety-sensitive.

Basic Requirements

Preferred Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, or related discipline
  • Experience managing specialty scopes of construction
  • OSHA certification
  • If not local to Indianapolis Metro area, must be willing to relocate
