Job summary

Coretelligent, LLC. is seeking a Project Engineer in the Boston area to lead infrastructure, cloud, and security projects. You will drive design through deployment as a senior technical resource for clients and internal teams.

You’ll collaborate with Project Managers, engineers, and stakeholders to ensure quality, standards, and successful project outcomes in a fast-paced MSP setting. This role is based in Boston with hybrid work options.

Qualifications

  • 7+ years of industry experience with hands-on IT systems architecture, deployment, support, and best practices.
  • Advanced Technical Certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot key technologies including VMware vSphere, Windows Server, Exchange Server, VPNs, firewalls, wireless, and remote desktop.

Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute complex technical projects across infrastructure, cloud, and end-user environments including design, configuration, deployment, and post-implementation support.
  • Partner with Project Managers to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource throughout the project lifecycle with guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support.
  • Lead client-facing initiatives such as email migrations, office network deployments, file sharing migrations, security implementations (SSO/MFA), server upgrades, relocations, and AV/phone deployments.

What We’re Looking For

As a Project Engineer at Coretelligent, you will play a lead role in delivering complex infrastructure, cloud, and security-focused initiatives across our client environments. This role is responsible for driving project-based work from design through deployment while serving as a senior technical resource for both clients and internal teams.

You’ll partner closely with Project Managers, engineers, support teams, and client stakeholders to execute high-impact technical projects while helping guide technical standards, implementation quality, and overall project success. In addition to hands‑on engineering responsibilities, this role is expected to provide technical leadership during planning, execution, troubleshooting, and post‑project support activities.

This role is ideal for an engineer who thrives in fast‑paced MSP environments, enjoys solving complex technical challenges, and takes ownership of both client outcomes and technical execution.

Boston, MA - Hybrid | Exempt | Reports to Manager, Project Engineering

What You’ll Do:

  • Lead and execute complex technical projects across infrastructure, cloud, and end‑user environments, including design, configuration, deployment, and post‑implementation support.
  • Partner closely with Project Managers to deliver projects on time, within scope, and aligned with client expectations.
  • Serve as a senior technical resource throughout the project lifecycle, providing guidance, troubleshooting, and escalation support when needed
  • Lead and execute a variety of client‑facing initiatives, including:
    • Email migrations (Exchange to Exchange, Exchange to cloud‑based platforms)
    • Office network deployments (firewalls, switching, wireless infrastructure, UPS devices)
    • File sharing migrations (Windows‑based servers to cloud platforms such as Egnyte, Box, OneDrive)
    • Security implementations, including Single Sign‑On (SSO) and Multi‑Factor Authentication (MFA) using platforms such as Okta or similar providers
    • Server upgrades and migrations (Windows Server environments)
    • Office relocations in coordination with Project Managers and vendors
    • Deployment of audio/video and phone systems in partnership with third‑party vendors
  • Provide end‑user training and support to ensure successful adoption of new systems and technologies.
  • Create and maintain detailed technical documentation, including runbooks, network diagrams, IP schemas, configuration guides, and build documentation.
  • Develop user‑facing documentation aligned with Coretelligent standards to support long‑term usability and supportability.
  • Track and support project‑related budgets, timelines, and reporting in partnership with Project Managers.
  • Ensure a high level of client satisfaction throughout the project lifecycle, from initial implementation through project closeout.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure smooth handoff from project delivery to ongoing support.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • At least 7+ years of industry experience with hands‑on IT systems architecture, deployment, support, and best practices
  • Advanced Technical Certifications (VMware, Microsoft, Cisco, Fortinet, etc.)
  • Ability to configure, maintain, and troubleshoot key technologies, including:

Travel and Work Requirements:

  • Ability to travel for project work at least once a month.
  • Able to regularly work nights and weekends to perform off‑hours upgrades and migrations

What We Bring to the Table:

Salary Range

The reasonably expected annual compensation range for this position is $130,000 - $155,000. This range reflects the minimum and maximum targets for new hires across all U.S. Within the range, individual compensation is determined by job‑related skills, experience, geographic location and applicable state or local laws.

Bonus Eligibility

This role may also be eligible for additional bonus or incentive opportunities based on position level and company plans.
