Job summary

Comlux America LLC is seeking a Project Engineer to report to the Director of Engineering and lead cross-functional engineering efforts on VIP aircraft completion projects. You will manage project execution, coordinate disciplines (Structures, Mechanical Systems, Electrical, Avionics, Interiors), and ensure deliverables align with STC development and 14 CFR/EASA Part 25 requirements.

Responsibilities include developing integrated project schedules, tracking budgets, and providing status updates

Role Description

The Project Engineer reports to theDirector of Engineering and serves as the primary engineering representativefor assigned VIP aircraft completion projects. This role is responsible forcoordinating cross-functional engineering efforts, managing project execution,and ensuring technical, schedule, and financial objectives are achieved.

The Project Engineer leads the integration ofengineering disciplines—including Structures, Mechanical Systems, Electrical,Avionics, and Interior Design—while interfacing with Program Management,Production, Outside Service Vendors (OSVs), and regulatory authorities. Thisposition ensures all engineering deliverables support successful SupplementalType Certificate (STC) development and aircraft completion in compliance with14 CFR / EASA Part 25 requirements.

Essential Job Functions
  • Serve as the primary Engineering Liaison,resolving engineering and production discrepancies and ensuring fit, form, andfunction requirements are achieved while considering manufacturing capabilitiesand constraints.
  • Coordinate and lead cross-functionalengineering teams to develop certifiable interior completion designs inaccordance with aircraft manufacturer data and engineering best practices.
  • Interface with Structures, MechanicalSystems, Electrical, Avionics, and Interior Engineering teams to ensure designintegration and compliance for STC projects involving large transport categoryaircraft.
  • Develop and manage integrated projectschedules, ensuring alignment of engineering deliverables with programmilestones, resource availability, and customer commitments.
  • Lead project planning, tracking, andreporting activities, including schedule performance, risk assessments, andfinancial tracking.
  • Ensure visibility of engineering projectstatus across leadership, program management, and finance teams to supportprioritization and resource planning decisions.
  • Establish and maintain project executionframeworks and processes across multiple engineering teams, ensuringconsistency and efficiency in project delivery.
  • Prepare and deliver technical reports,presentations, and status updates to program teams, leadership, and customers.
  • Develop, maintain, and manage projectbudgets, including tracking engineering labor, materials, and outside services.
  • Coordinate technical interfaces with OutsideService Vendors (OSVs), ensuring scope, deliverables, and timelines are clearlydefined and executed.
  • Support the development and continuousimprovement of Internal Operating Procedures (IOPs) and engineering processes.
  • Support certification efforts bycoordinating with regulatory authorities and ensuring engineering data packagesmeet compliance requirements.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications, Education andExperience
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Aerospace Engineering,Mechanical Engineering, or a related field required. (Equivalent combination:12+ years of directly related experience may be considered in lieu of adegree.)
  • Minimum 7–10 years of experience in aircraftcompletions, engineering project planning, or certification within a Part 25environment.
  • Demonstrated experience managing engineeringprojects, including scheduling, cost tracking, and resource planning.
  • Experience implementing project managementtools, systems, and reporting methodologies.
  • Working knowledge of STC development andcertification processes.
  • Valid passport with the ability to traveldomestically and internationally as required.
Required Skills and Abilities
  • Strong project management and organizationalskills with the ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously.
  • Proficiency in engineering and projectmanagement tools including AutoCAD (preferred), Microsoft Project, Excel, Word,and PowerPoint.
  • Strong understanding of aircraft interiorsystems and engineering documentation standards.
  • Proven ability to work independently andlead cross-functional engineering teams.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solvingcapabilities in complex technical environments.
  • Excellent verbal and written communicationskills with the ability to present information to technical and non-technicalstakeholders.
  • Strong financial acumen with experiencemanaging project budgets and cost performance.
  • Ability to operate effectively inafat-fast-paced, high-demand aviation environment.
Work Environment

This position is primarilybased in an office environment and may require occasional time in an aircrafthangar or production environment. The role may involve:
