Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent in engineering or related field is preferred.
  • One to three years related engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with emphasis in manufacturing.
  • Ability to solve routine problems using established procedures

Responsibilities

  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles throughout the organization.
  • Ensure product flow is optimized by reducing WIP and improving productivity.
  • Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues.
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement using value stream mapping, 5S, kanban and visual management
  • Support corrective actions for production/quality issues
  • Apply SPC methods and quality tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE) to analyze data
  • Prepare risks, costs, schedules, and work with manufacturing on new product/process development

As a Project Engineer, you will be responsible for implementing projects aligned with our philosophy of Lean manufacturing. This position is responsible for identifying and implementing improvements in process, materials, and equipment. This position is also responsible for the quality of products as they are passed on to the customer.

What You’ll Do
  • Performs routine assignments in the entry level of the Professional Career Band
  • Develops competence by performing structured work assignments
  • Uses existing procedures to solve routine or standard problems
  • Receives instruction, guidance and direction from others
  • Design, develop, and implement improvements to control usage and reduce scrap.
  • Ensure product flow is optimized by reducing WIP and improving productivity
  • Drive lean manufacturing and continuous improvement principles throughout the organization using value stream mapping and other lean manufacturing tools such as 5s, kanban, and visual management
  • Support implementation of corrective actions to solve production/quality issues
  • Applies statistical process control (SPC) methods and quality design and control tools (PFMEA, Control Plan, DOE, etc.) for analyzing data to evaluate the current process and process changes
  • Generates risk assessment, engineering requirements, cost estimates, schedules and works with manufacturing to implement new product/process development projects.
  • Perform system reviews to ensure quality system policies, standard operating procedures, work instructions, and job instructions are being used and followed and assist in establishing or improving process flows for standard work
  • Other duties may be assigned
What You’ll Bring
  • Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) or equivalent from a college or university in engineering or related field is preferred
  • One to three years related engineering experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience with an emphasis in manufacturing environment
Nice to Haves
  • Experience in AutoCAD and Info View preferred
  • Direct experience in applicable industry is preferred
  • Experience with Statistical Software Packages preferred
  • Firm grasp of Lean/Continuous Improvement tools and methodologies preferred
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving skills required
  • Concentration specific knowledge/experience as required for assigned area
