Job summary

Brose North America Inc. in Auburn Hills, Michigan is seeking a Project Engineer for the Door Modules and Window Regulators team. You will support development and execution of automotive engineering projects, coordinating with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure delivery.

The role requires 5–7 years of automotive engineering experience and a mechanical/industrial engineering degree. A strong emphasis on schedule and budget management, technical risk analysis, and change control is

Qualifications

• 5–7 years related automotive engineering experience preferred.
• Strong ability to manage projects, schedules and budgets.

Responsibilities

• Support development and execution of automotive engineering projects.
• Plan and implement engineering programs, activities and milestones per customer requirements.
• Prepare and deliver project milestones reports and adapt schedules as needed.
• Coordinate and deliver bid packages, including BOM creation and product sizing.
• Oversee project personnel across design, specs, and testing phases.
• Review designs for compliance with engineering principles, standards and customer requirements.
• Lead technical risk analysis (DFMEA) and implement technical changes.
• Manage Development Team Meeting processes for change control.

Your Tasks

• This position is based at our Brose headquarters in Auburn Hills, Michigan
• As a Project Engineer within our Door Modules and Window Regulators team, you will support the development and execution of automotive engineering projects, collaborating with customers and cross-functional teams to ensure successful project delivery.
• Plans and implements engineering programs, activities and milestones, per customer requirements.
• May develop and maintain a schedule and budget for the assigned engineering projects.
• Provide reports on the status of project milestones and adjust schedules accordingly.
• Coordinates preparation and delivery of project deliverables including: internal and external samples, design documents for internal release and customer.
• Coordinate and create deliverables for bid packages regarding engineering (including BOM creation, product sizing, fit and form evaluation)
• Assigns and oversees project personnel to specific phases or aspects of project such as technical studies, product design, preparation of specifications and technical plans, and product testing.
• Reviews product design for compliance with engineering principles, company standards, customer contract requirements, and related specifications.
• Coordinates activities concerned with technical developments, scheduling, and resolving engineering design and test problems.
• Directs integration of technical activities and products.
• Responsible for the technical analysis of risks and errors (ie. DFMEA) / problems and / or impact of changes, preparation of proposals and implementation of technical changes
• Responsible for the development and implementation of changes Implementation and management of the DTM (Development Team Meeting) responsible for change control management.

Your Profile

• Bachelor's degree or Master's Degree in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering
• Five to seven years related experience and/or training in engineering within the automotive industry; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
